Heritage and food go hand in hand. Italy has pasta and Japan has sushi, while the French are synonymous with the baguette. Belgium clearly has ownership over chocolate. But what is America’s official dish? It’s hard to believe that America doesn’t have an official food. When it comes to food in the U.S.A. no food stands out as bold as steak. There you have it. Steak should be America’s official food, and the folks at Outback Steakhouse® agree.
Outback Steakhouse recently launched their new “Bold at Steak” campaign today, centered on the bold flavors, sights and sounds that make Outback the steak authority. There is a brand new menu at Outback which includes the new Wood-Fire Grilled Flat Iron Steak and Victoria’s Filet Portabella.
Whether you are grilling steaks on your backyard grill this summer or heading to Outback Steakhouse with the family, steak is a big part of American culture.
Make Steak America’s Official Food Petition
To celebrate being “Bold at Steak”, Outback has introduced a petition to make steak the first official food of the U.S. and they want your help in rallying behind the cause. Are you a steak lover? If so, you can sign the petition to help make steak America’s official food.

I would like to win so I can take my family out for dinner. I don’t care about the petition. How many people right now now what the official food is anyway.
