Mineral or Liquid Makeup?
Mom and I both swear by and use different types of foundation. I use mineral foundation, while mom uses liquid foundation. Each swears by the product we use. So how do our preferences differ between mineral and liquid foundations? Is one really better than the other?
My Mineral Foundation
For several years now my foundation of choice has been bare Minerals in a powder form. I have always suffered with the terrible combination of oily, sensitive skin and living in a warm climate. Before switching to mineral makeup, my foundation would literally melt off my face in the heat, leaving embarrassing streaks. Adding more powder only gave me a caked on effect. I know that a lot of you are thinking that mineral makeup is too expensive. I was skeptical of the cost at first, but found that a little mineral foundation goes a long way. Personally, I don’t wear makeup everyday (although I probably should) keeping the cost down.
Mom’s Liquid Foundation
Probably for as long as she has worn makeup, mom has used Cover Girl liquid foundation. Cover Girl has come out with a few different foundation lines over the years, but mom has stuck with the original Cover Girl Clean Liquid Makeup. I don’t think she will ever use another makeup. Mom’s skin is the opposite of mine. She tends to have dry skin and a great complexion. Applied on top of a moisturizer, the liquid foundation is perfect for her, with no streaking or caking. What about the price? Cover Girl has continued to be one of the more affordable beauty lines on the market.
Which is it then?
I think it’s fair to say that both liquid foundation and powdered mineral foundation has benefits. Your skin type will determine which product is best for you.
The Twist
A few companies have delved into making mineral liquid foundation which totally confuses me. I am curious to see if the mineral liquid foundation provides the same type of coverage as the mineral powder foundation.
Which is your preference?
