Last weekend I had a some girl time with my friend and sister-in-law, Chrishelle. We headed out to the Atlanta Dogwood Festival held at the beautiful Piedmont Park. This was our first time attending the festival, now in it’s 77th year. We have truly been missing out, as the festival was loaded up with family fun, amazing arts and crafts, good food, entertainment from the likes of Sara Evans, and many interesting exhibits.
Shortly after arriving, we headed over to the Mohawk Flooring exhibit to see for ourselves how their SmartStrand carpeting really holds up to the grimiest of spills. With a large family like ours and lots of pets, we are in need of carpeting that will hold up to all the foot traffic and orange Georgia clay that our area is known for.
At the License to Spill booth we met the Mohawk Flooring demo staff, along with Audra Lowe and the crew from the BetterTV, as well as Jeff Martin of Smallcakes who was serving up 2,000 of his famous cupcakes to festival goers.
While we were there we got to watch as the BetterTV crew filmed some video footage with Audra Lowe and the Mohawk Flooring folks. We also got to meet Trent, the adorable License to Spill Showdown Cowboy. That’s his picture on the side of the License to Spill Tour van.
The highlight of our visit at the License to Spill booth was seeing just how stain resistant the SmartStrand carpeting really is. We took the challenge, as my sister-in-law covered the carpet in blue sports drink, soy sauce, and Merlot wine. She soaked it up very well and I was ready to see some serious scrubbing to remove the stains.
I was wrong. Much to my surprise the Mohawk Flooring representative pulled out nothing but a bottle of cold water. As she slowly poured the cold water over the carpet, all the stains washed away. I was shocked and impressed all at once.
SmartStrand is extremely easy to clean. Can you imagine saying goodbye to carpet cleaners for good? You don’t have to use any harsh chemicals or carpet cleaners to remove stains from SmartStrand carpet. All you need is a dishrag, some warm water, and mild detergent, like dish soap. Even tough stains, like ketchup, red Kool-Aid, even red wine will clean easily out of SmartStrand carpet. Almost everyone has a flooring horror story, but with SmartStrand there’s no need to worry. This carpet is rated #1 in consumer satisfaction, thanks to the permanent stain and soil resistance that will never wear off.
An area rug can protect high traffic areas and provide warmth if you have hardwood floors or tile in your home. My house is full of area rugs. Enter to win your own 6’ X 9’ SmartStrand Silk bound carpet rug from Mohawk Flooring.
My mom, Laura, stayed behind with the kids last Saturday for a cheerleading demonstration. But Chrishelle and I had a fabulous time at the Atlanta Dogwood Festival and visiting the folks from Mohawk Flooring at the License to Spill booth. Mohawk Flooring is on a National License to Spill Tour through June 6, 2013. Keep an eye on the Mohawk Flooring Facebook page and @MohawkFlooring on Twitter for tour stops and look for the License to Spill van at festivals and events, to see for yourself how the SmartStrand technology works to resist common household stains.
I just have to include this picture of Chrishelle with Jeff from SmallCakes Cupcakery. She is a hug fan of the show Cupcake Wars and was thrilled to meet Cupcake Wars Champ, Jeff, who has been on the show three times. His Georgia Peach cupcakes served in the License to Spill booth were to die for!
