I survived the Thanksgiving holiday thanks to Nutrisystem! I remember thinking a few weeks ago, am I crazy for starting a diet just before the holidays? Well it turns out I wasn’t after all. I weighed in this morning at 201.5. Yes, that’s where I ended last week, but I’m ok with that. Typically I gain weight over the holidays. Considering I have been on an upward trend for a while now, this holiday season would be no different. I enjoyed my Thanksgiving meal and even leftovers on the next day. The rest of the week I followed my Nutrisystem meal plan and it all leveled out.
Last week one of my great readers suggested smoothies as a way to get more fruit into my diet. I thought it was a fabulous idea and tried it. Smoothies made with non-fat plain yogurt, frozen fruit, skim-milk and a splash of orange juice have really helped me to not feel hungry and has helped me to meet Nutrisystem’s suggested amounts of fruits and vegetables.
I have had a chance to try more of the Nutrisystem meals and am hooked on the frozen Steak and Cheese Melt. It makes hot pockets taste like cat food. (Not that I know what cat food tastes like.) The cheesey mashed potatoes were also really good.
Ending Thanksgiving week with no loss or gain is fine with me. Now that I have a few weeks before Christmas, I hope to start dropping pounds again.
