Menopause parties seem to be all the rage these days! It’s a great way to fave fun with your girlfriends and discuss the menopause symptoms that many of us women over 40 are experiencing. I threw a Meno-Pause party over the weekend for some of my favorite girlfriends over the age of 40, who are feeling a lot like me…hot, tired, irregular, and confused over menopause. It’s high time we start talking about menopause and learn how to better survive it, with the help of friends, good times, lots of laughs, and the new Poise Feminine Wellness Products.
I found a wealth of information about peri-menopause and menopause on the Poise brand web site. There are some fabulous articles from experts on topics such as the first symptoms of menopause, myths about menopause, changing nutritional needs during menopause, and so much more. You’ll also find a wonderful question and answer section, where you’ll find insightful answers to the most commonly asked menopause questions.
From Poise.com — Perimenopause means ‘around the menopause’ and is the first of three phases that completes the menopause transition. Perimenopause mimics puberty with irregular menstrual periods, mood swings, irritability, fuzzy thinking, and occasional hot flashes.
Menopause is the second phase and requires twelve months of no periods or spotting to complete this phase. Hot flashes, night sweats, mood swings, decreased libido, and vaginal dryness are the hallmark symptoms of this phase.
Many of us moms have had “The Talk” with our daughters to prepare them for their periods. But have we had “The 2nd Talk” with our own mothers to prepare us for menopause? I don’t know about you, but there hasn’t been a lot of talk about menopause in my family and that’s about to change. September is Menopause Awareness Month, so what better time to have “The 2nd Talk“.
To prepare for my Meno-Pause party, a trip to Walmart was in order. I wanted to pick up the new Poise Feminine Wellness Products; along with some wine, cheese, and other snacks for my guests. Between my two local Walmart stores, I was able to get 4 of the 5 new Poise Products: Body Cooling Towelettes, Roll-On Cooling Gel, Feminine Wash, and Personal Lubricant. My stores don’t carry the new Panty Fresheners yet. These products must be extremely popular, because they are always sold out and I had to make several trips to Walmart to get all 4 of these items.
I have to say that I am not at all surprised by just how popular they are, because there aren’t many products on the market to help women combat the symptoms of menopause. I wonder why that is? It truly baffles me. Because after chatting with my girlfriends and drawing from my own experiences with menopause, I know that there is a true and desperate need for these products.
It was time for the ladies to gather. I had put together an impressive spread…Not so much, but we enjoyed it! I picked up a few pizzas and set out a salad and an assortment of cheese and crackers. Oh, and let’s not forget the wine.
I know you’re not impressed…but let’s face it — menopause makes us tired!
We had a great time catching up, swapping menopause horror stories and learning about the new Poise Body Cooling Towelettes, Roll-On Cooling Gel, Feminine Wash, Panty Fresheners and Personal Lubricant. I have to admit that after opening the second bottle of wine, the girls started to get a little silly. We had a lot of fun testing out the new Poise Personal Wellness Products and taking goofy pictures of each other.
Pick up the September issue of All You magazine for information on menopause and the $1.00-off coupon. Or visit the Poise Fab 5 page on Walmart.com to watch 5 fabulous ladies talk about their symptoms and how Poise products help them manage them. Watch their videos and then print a $1.00-off coupon.
