Propel [pruh-pel]: To drive, or cause to move, forward or onward. To impel or urge onward.
Why do we do the things we do? What propels us to be better, to do more, to make a difference? We all have different factors that drive us to take a certain course in life. Many different things propel us to react a certain way, or drive us toward a decision.
Why do I do the things I do?
The answer is quite simple actually. I am propelled by family. I have been blessed with amazing children and beautiful grandchildren. They give me unconditional love and support. They make me feel proud. I am energized and inspired by them.
My Beautiful Family
Love of family drives me to make the right choices and be all that I can. They propel me to think before I act, to consider more than myself.
I have been a single mom and have worked three jobs at once. At the age of 50, I returned to school to have a new career. It wasn’t easy starting over, but I wanted to set a good example for my family…to show that hard work pays off. I have been rewarded ten fold by the love of my family.
Other things may change us, but we start and end with the family ~ Anthony Brandt
As I approach retirement, my goals and aspirations have changed somewhat. However, the driving force continues to be my family. I look forward to having more time to spend with my children, grandchildren, and all of the wonderful people who make up my family.

Great post. I am propelled my family too and I love Propel water!
My kids love propel. It’s always one of our favorite hot weather drinks!
Family definitely propels me too! They’re my “Why?” in making myself the best I can be.
Definitely my family. Wanting to set a good example for my daughter and doing what’s best for her.
You are inspiring! I’m 36, and always think I’m too “old” to go back to school and finally finish my degree. But you did it at 50, so I should just get over myself and do it. I think my problem is that I’m scared to be the only “grown up” in the class. Why does that scare me so much? I have no idea. I’m weird!
It’s never too late! I say go for it!
