Growing up in the Midwest was the best place to be in the summer months. Some of my best memories from childhood are running through the sprinklers, chasing fireflies at night and spending the 4th of July on the lake.
Now that I have my own kids and live in the southwest, my husband and I try to give some of those same experiences to our children…the best that we can in the desert! We spend time in the swimming pool, eat popsicles and head to the cool, northern country as much as possible.
In celebration of upcoming 4th of July, we decided to do a simple firework craft! My kids are so creative and have inherited my frugal “let’s use what we have on hand” mindset. We decided on a fun Q-Tip Painted Firework Craft! With just a few necessary supplies we were off to a great start!
Supplies:
- Construction paper (black, blue and light blue are the perfect firework backdrop)
- Q-Tips
- Washable Paints (red, white and blue)
Time to Get Creative!
Tip: We used paper plates for our paint and Q-tip supplies. It made the mess more manageable.Â
I just LOVED seeing what their little imaginations came up with!
I hope this Q-Tip Painted Firework Craft gives you inspiration to get crafty this 4th of July! Enjoy!
