I have to admit that before receiving our Quaker Soft Baked Bars for review, we had already picked up a box of the Banana Nut Bread variety at our local grocery store. They looked so good that we simply couldn’t wait for our review items to arrive. They were delicious and polished off by the second day, so we were eager to get more of them.
Quaker sent us the Banana Nut Bread and Cinnamon Pecan Bread varieties to try. We were already huge fans of the Banana Nut Bread, but I gotta tell you that the Cinnamon Pecan Bread (bars) are over the top. They are loaded up with cinnamon and crunchy pecans, and is now my personal favorite breakfast-on-the-go food. They make a pretty good late night snack also!
(Yes, that’s me in my pj’s enjoying my breakfast!)
Bar or Bread?
Perhaps I’m the only one who cares about these things, but I can’t decide if these little baked treats are really bars or bread. The box says that they’re bars. They taste and look like little baked breads, yet with the conveinece of a bar. I say they’re both! A big improvement from the cereal bars that we normally buy, they are very tasty regardless of what you call them.
Warm them up! Trust me when I tell you to pop this breakfast snack into the microwave. Just open the end of the package and microwave for 10 seconds to get a soft, delectible bread (bar) that tastes almost like homemade.
