A Rachael Ray DISH for Both You and Your Dog

As you may know, I’ve been feeding my dogs Rachael Ray Nutrish dog food for quite some time. My two pups, Winston and Fionna, are spoiled rotten and feeding them a dog food that is made from the very best ingredients is really important to me. Recently, Winston and Fionna started eating new DISH from Rachael Ray Nutrish. I’m so excited to tell you more about it, and also share a delicious Rachael Ray dish that you can make for yourself. Rachael Ray Nutrish has sponsored this post, but all opinions are my own.

DISH from Rachael Ray Nutrish

DISH from Rachael Ray Nutrish is available in two flavors: Beef & Brown Rice Recipe with Veggies, Fruit & Chicken and Chicken & Brown Rice Recipe with Veggies & Fruit. Each recipe is made with whole ingredients you can see, like slow-roasted chicken, carrots, peas and apples for a whole taste your dog will love. It’s important to feed your pup like you feed your family.

Winston started licking the bag as soon as I placed it on the floor.

My dogs think that every package delivered to the house is for them, only this time they were right. Rachael’s team sent us a super fun package that included one of each new DISH variety to try, a branded food dish, along with an apron and bib for the dogs. Be sure to enter the giveaway at the bottom of this blog post for a chance to win the same DISH from Nutrish kit that I received!

I tried so hard to get a pic of one of the dogs wearing the bib, but they would not cooperate. Fionna didn’t want to wear it and she tried to rip it off of Winston. My dogs aren’t always the most cooperative models.

Like with all new dog food, I slowly introduced my dogs to DISH. It’s best to slowly mix a new food into your pet’s regular food, over a 5-10 day period, until your pet is solely eating the new food. DISH may offer different ingredients than your dog is used to.

Winston is one of those dogs who will eat anything. He seems to always have a dirty face from getting into the trash or stealing someone’s food. He’s such a naughty boy.

While Winston was perfectly happy to try a new food, Fionna, is was different story. She’s a bit more hesitant to try new things, so slowly adding DISH to her diet helped her to adjust. Now she gobbles it up and begs for more.

DISH features whole food ingredients you can see, for a whole taste your dog will love. When you open DISH, you’ll be able to see real chicken pieces, crisp carrots, garden & field peas, farm-grown potatoes and tree-ripened apples! You can really feel good about feeding this to your pet.

This is what DISH Beef & Brown Rice looks like up close. Look at all those veggies!

DISH from Rachael Ray Nutrish

One thing you’ll notice about DISH from Nutrish is that real U.S. farm-raised chicken or beef is always the #1 ingredient. There’s also never any corn, wheat, soy or gluten which is great for dogs with food allergies.

DISH from Nutrish is made from so many wholesome ingredients:

Real chicken pieces are slow cooked with a delicious real meat texture and hickory smoke flavor your dog will love.

Crisp Carrots offer a tasty crunch and are excellent sources of carotenoids, essential vitamins and minerals to help support immune health.

Garden & Field Peas are excellent sources of dietary fiber to help support healthy digestion. They’re also naturally gluten free.

Farm-Grown Potatoes are easily digestible alternative carbohydrates that have been carefully selected because they’re naturally gluten free and gentle on your dog’s digestive system.

Tree-Ripened Apples are a delicious source of Vitamin A, Vitamin C and dietary fiber, which can help support healthy digestion.

I have a dish for you too! This delicious recipe for French Spring Chicken Pot, from Rachael Ray’s kitchen, has a lot of the same wholesome ingredients as her new DISH from Nutrish dog food. This meal is so good y’all. You have to try this recipe! I’ll be making it again real soon.

Ingredients:
4 pieces skinless, boneless chicken breasts
2 onions, 1 halved and 1 chopped
1 bay leaf
3 tablespoons butter
1 baking potato, peeled and cut into small cubes
2 carrots, peeled and cut into small cubes
3 small ribs celery, cut into small cubes
1/3 pound white mushrooms (a couple of generous handfuls), quartered
1/3 pound thin green beans (a couple of generous handfuls), cut on an angle into 1-inch pieces
Salt and pepper
2 tablespoons flour
1/2 cup dry white wine
1 1/2 cups chicken broth
1/2 cup frozen peas
3 tablespoons fresh tarragon, chopped
2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
1/3 cup heavy cream
Grainy rolls or crusty whole wheat bread, for dunking

Directions:

In a large, heavy pot or Dutch oven filled with simmering water, cook the chicken, halved onion and bay leaf until cooked through and tender, 15-20 minutes. Transfer the chicken to a cutting board and cut into bite-size pieces or, using 2 forks, shred in a bowl.

Wipe out the pot, add the butter and melt over medium heat. One vegetable at a time, stir in the chopped onion, potato, carrots, celery and mushrooms. Cover the pot, lower the heat and cook until softened, about 5 minutes. Add the green beans and season with salt and pepper. Sprinkle the flour into the pot and stir for 1 minute. Stir in the wine, scraping the browned bits from the bottom of the pan, and cook until slightly reduced, about 1 minute. Stir in the chicken broth and bring to a simmer. Stir in the peas, tarragon and mustard and simmer for 5 minutes.

Add the chicken to the vegetables. Stir in the cream and heat through. Serve with the bread.
