They say when you have kids that the days are long but the years are fast. If you’re a parent, you understand this to be true. Lately, I’ve been doing a lot of reminiscing about my parenting years. It’s hard to believe my son will turn 30 later this year, and I’m still parenting an 8 year old. So much love, laughter, and also many tears over the years. Many cherished memories and much more still to come.
The good memories help me get through those difficult days as a parent. Every parent has bad days when they feel like they are doing this parenting thing all wrong. It’s easy for parents to ask themselves, “‘Am I doing good enough’?” Minute Maid is on a mission to let parents know they are doing better than they think, and my new post on the Minute Maid Good Minute blog is for all you moms and dads like me who need a reminder from time-to-time that you’re #doinggood.
I hope you’ll head on over to The Good Minute to check it out. It shares some of my favorite parenting memories, and a few of my mom’s favorites too. Mom and I had such a good time chatting about those parenting moments that stand out the most. I also pulled some old family pics from my photo albums. They are so much fun!
I’d love to hear, what are some of your favorite parenting memories?
My favorite parenting memory are when son hugs me for no reason. that is when i realize i’m doing a pretty good job.
I love when the kids make me pictures just because or when my son tells me I look beautiful when I definitely do not lol
Sometimes we can get stuck in the day to day. It is so important to remember all the special moments and memories.
My favorite parenting moments are when my kids want to look back say things, quotes, pictures and posts I’ve shared about them. They’ve only lived in the age of social media.
well I agree, it is definitely a good reminder. We are all doing good, its nice to sit back and reflect on it though. It helps us want to be even better. 🙂
I think my favorite parenting memory is when I introduced my youngest to my oldest for the first time. She was absolutely in love from the very first sight.
It’s so hard to pick one moment. I think one of my favorite moments was when we were on vacation and all danced on the beach of Hawaii
I love this. It’s so important to remember the good times about parenting.
I can remember when my daughter would fix me something to eat, or try to anyway. When she would bring it to me, I would ask why she did it and she would respond, “Because I love you, Mommy.” That made it all good.
Parenting is not always easy, but it is important to remember that the days are long but the years are short. I can not believe how fast my babies are growing up!
