My Samsung Health Ask an Expert Experience

When you get sick doesn’t it seem like it always happens after business hours or even worse on a Friday afternoon? Being sick all weekend is no fun at all. Since I have some respiratory issues, it is very important for me to see a doctor at the first sign of getting a cold or sinus infection. Unfortunately, my doctor can’t always see me right away. Earlier this week I was in this very situation, and used Ask an Expert’s on-demand urgent care service.

The entire process was very easy. After clicking on the Samsung Health icon on my phone. I was prompted to sign into my Samsung account. I then set up my account by providing some basic information, that included any prescription medications that I am taking, and my pharmacy info. The whole process only took a few minutes.

Next, I provided the reason for my online visit and was prompted to choose my insurance provider. Mine wasn’t on their list, so I was taken to a screen to provide payment information and advised of the cost of my online urgent-care visit which was $59. Depending on your reason for using the Ask an Expert service, the cost could be as much as $99.

I was given the option to choose from a list of health care providers who were online, or the next available. It was early evening and I had about 10 different doctors to choose from, although this will vary each time you use the service. I chose a doctor who specializes in family medicine and was connected to her via video chat within a matter of minutes.

The doctor was very thorough. She reviewed my provided biometric data, my medical history and went over my current medications, in addition to discussing my reason for reaching out. In the end, she made some recommendations to ease my symptoms, and sent a couple of prescriptions to my pharmacy.

I have no complaints about the quality of care that I received or the Ask an Expert service itself. The entire process was so easy and I never had to leave the comfort of my own home. I will most definitely be using this service again. While there are obviously some things you need to see a doctor for in person, there are many instances when Ask an Expert can be used. Here are some common conditions Ask an Expert treats with Urgent Care:

Sinus infection
Cold/upper respiratory infection
Bronchitis
Sore throat
UTI (Urinary Tract Infection)
Yeast Infection
Cough
Eczema
Pink Eye/Conjunctivitis
Stomach Infection (Gastroenteritis)
Hypertension/high blood pressure
Flu
