I’ve been talking a lot recently about back-to-school. Today, I’m going to shift gears just slightly and tell you about how you can save money on healthcare expenses.

Have you noticed your family’s healthcare expenses go up, now that the kids are back in school? A nasty cold has already made the rounds through my household. Everyone has been sick, even my Mom who is here for a visit.

My 10-year old came home from school with the sniffles again just yesterday. I feel so bad for her. She’s barely recovered from the last cold. Thankfully, she isn’t running a fever and didn’t have to miss school today. It seems the cold and flu season is making an early appearance this year.

After the expense of school supplies and uniforms, I’m not ready for costly doctor visits and prescriptions. I’ve recently learned about the SingleCare healthcare savings card, and it seems to be just what you and I need to save money on healthcare. I was really excited to learn about this!

What is SingleCare? It is basically a discount card for your health. It is not an insurance card. Rather, it simply gives you access to savings on dentist, optometrist and online doctor visits, and at over 35,000 of their partner pharmacies nationwide.

It gives you the ability to easily compare costs for healthcare services without worrying about networks, coverage limitations or deductibles, making sure you pay the least possible amount for prescriptions and other healthcare services.

SingleCare is absolutely FREE to join and members save money when they fill a prescription using their SingleCare card or when they visit a SingleCare dentist, optometrist, or have an online doctor visit. The SingleCare pharmacy savings card is accepted nationwide at over 35,000 pharmacies, including Walmart, Walgreens, CVS, Rite Aid, and Kroger’s.

It is so easy to use SingleCare and make sure you are paying the least amount possible on your healthcare needs. For example, before filling a prescription simply use the SingleCare app or go online. Type in the name of your prescription and SingleCare will provide you a cost comparison based on the pharmacies nearest you, showing where you can save the absolute most using your SingleCare card. Using the SingleCare website, I was able to find a free coupon to use at my local CVS Pharmacy for significant savings on Amoxicillin.

You do not need to have insurance to save money and get affordable healthcare. I know not everyone can afford expensive insurance, and I like how SingleCare can help fill that gap. Even if you have insurance, you can also use SingleCare as a supplement to your insurance if SingleCare is cheaper. My health insurance doesn’t provide me with a whole lot of coverage, so I am very thankful for any additional savings I can get through SingleCare.
