I loved being a new mom, but know from experience that being a mom for the first time can be a little scary. When it was time to leave the hospital with my son, I was worried I would do everything wrong. Luckily, I had some moms in my life who were willing to share advice their own experiences with me.
This post is sponsored by Mirum, but opinions expressed are my own.
Of course, I received plenty of recommendations and advice concerning feedings, diaper changing, babies sleep schedule and everything in between. Some of the best advice I received was to take advantage of opportunities to rest, recharge, and to ask for help when needed.
A 15-minute power nap can do wonders!
There is no shame in asking for help.
Then, there is all that stuff you need to buy. For example, it is amazing to me that you can walk into the store for something as simple as a pacifier and be faced with no less than a dozen different options. I’ve learned to ask friends for product recommendations before heading into the store.
When you have a newborn, friends and family are quick to offer opinions on feeding methods, sleep schedules, and everything in between. While not all advice was the right fit for me and my baby, I learned a lot from other moms. I also came to realize that my choice mattered. I think this is especially true when it comes to deciding whether you’re going to breast feed, bottle feed or supplement with formula. Everyone seems to have an opinion on this.
I breastfed my son for the first few months, then switched to formula when it was time for me to return to work. So many moms feel like they won’t be able to bond well with their baby if the are not breast feeding. I worried about that at first. It becomes a lot of stress that moms don’t have to put themselves through. There are so many ways to bond with your baby even if you are not able to breast feed. It is all about making bottle feeding a special time with your baby.
Feeding Time Tip: My favorite feeding time tip is turn off distractions. Yes, as a mom who has a lot going on, it is hard to turn off wanting to multi task. But feeding time can be such a wonderful time to connect with your baby. Put down the phone. Turn off the TV. Look into your baby’s beautiful face.

I love that brands are listening to consumers and going the non-GMO route. I’m more likely to support brands who support what I stand for.
I have a lot of friends that SWEAR by Parent’s Choice infant formula! That’s the only kind they use!
What an adorable baby!! Love them blue eyes! My kids all used this formula as babies too!
I breastfeed my baby, have with all 6 of them. This definitely sounds like a healthy option though, I like that there are no GMO’s.
Of course every parent loves to save money whenever possible especially after having a baby! It’s great to know that saving money on formula doesn’t have to mean low quality ingredients.
