Simmering Christmas Potpourri

Enjoy the scents of the holiday season anytime you want with this simmering Christmas potpourri. Cranberries, citrus, cinnamon, cloves and other seasonal ingredients come together to make a stovetop potpourri that will fill your house with the scents of the holiday season.

Don’t you just love the smells of the holiday season? Fresh baked cookies, peppermint, and evergreen to name a few. I love them all. I started putting up an artificial Christmas tree a few years back and really miss the wonder evergreen smell. This lovely stovetop potpourri totally makes up for it.

Ingredients are for a 2 qt saucepan.

INGREDIENTS:
4 cups water
3/4 cup whole cranberries
2 orange slices
3 lemon slices
3 cinnamon sticks
2 sprigs of fresh rosemary
1 teaspoon whole cloves
4 stars of anise

  • What a pretty idea to have a Potpourri for the Holidays. I bet it smells so good, and would be great to have simmering when guest come over.

  • I’m so ready for Christmas. I just put this in the pot and started simmering. I can’t wait to smell the magic!!! Thank you for the recipe. My Mom used to do this for the holidays too, unfortunately she has been gone 6 1/2 yrs now. So sad I can’t ask her what her favorite recipe was.
