Kids (and parents) work so hard throughout the school year. It’s no wonder that we worry about the summer slide. While kids are having summer fun, some of those skill sets they learned during the school year are slowly being forgotten. I’m a believer that summertime should be carefree and fun for kids. However, there is a way to prevent the summer slide and still keep it fun with the TenMarks Math Program which is generously being offered for FREE this summer.
Research shows students lose two to three months of grade level math equivalency over the summer, which impacts their readiness for the next school year. That’s motivation enough to take advantage of the free TenMarks Summer Math Program. I am happy to partner with TenMarks Math to share a bit about the TenMarks Summer Math Program.
TenMarks aims to help stop summer learning loss in children and keep them learning though out the summer. For the second year in a row TenMarks, an Amazon company, is making their family math program free for the summer months. The TenMarks Summer Math Program is designed for students completing grade 1 through Geometry and Algebra 2, helping build their math foundation and skills over the summer break at their own pace and time, and benefitting teachers who typically spend the first few weeks of a school year re-introducing the previous years’ teachings.
After the initial sign-up by the parent, the child begins with a diagnostic assessment and is then offered a personalized curriculum that reviews concepts and introduces new concepts based on student performance.
The program is designed to allow children to work at their own pace. If they need help a series of hints will be given — there are even video tutorials if needed.
Give your child incentive to learn with rewards.
TenMarks also allows parents to set-up a custom reward to encourage their children to work through the program. This is really important. It is math work, so it might be a hard sell for children, especially over the summer. However, the parent-set rewards can help offset that.
Most kids would be motivated to complete a few assignments knowing that a movie or a trip to the zoo is the reward.
We are just getting started with summer learning, but so far I am very impressed with TenMarks and am excited to share this summer’s free offer with all of you. I think this is a valuable tool to help parents stop the summer slide.
Even if you don’t want to work on math all summer long, I think this is a great refresher to do just before the new school year. I think it’s worth checking out.
Maddie even decided to do some math and earn rewards while visiting her Grandma and Grandpa in Florida this week. Those rewards can be a great motivator!
The program is available today and runs through August 31, 2015, and is available free to every family in the United States. The regular price is $39.95 so this is a great savings for families. Parents should visit http://summer.tenmarks.com for more information and to sign up. The TenMarks Math for Students app is available for tablets on iOS, Android or Fire OS.

I’m so worried about skills lost over the summer break. Tenmarks math program sounds amazing for kids!
I like having educational activities for the kids during the summer, and will be looking into the Tenmarks Math Program.
I don’t have kids in school they are adults now. But if I did, I would take advantage of the this program. It is nice that it is free.
I love that they’re offering this service for free! Math, especially, isn’t worked on during the Summer time and it’s so very important.
I will have to show this to my son. This sounds great for his son to get into.
Sounds like a great program to teach children and keep their minds busy during school break.
My mom used to give us homework during hte summer because she saw how much math we would forget by the time we got back to school.
this sounds like great product, would be great for kids
I loved math when I was in school, but I agree that if you aren’t using it over the summer you’ll lose some of what you’ve learned. This is a great program.
This sounds like a very nice and informative program for the children to learn from. I give the thumbs up on this.
