Ballantyne Hotel in Charlotte
My sister-in-law and I had the great pleasure of staying at the Ballantyne Hotel and Lodge in Charlotte, North Carolina last week. The Ballantyne Hotel in Charlotte offers family luxury like you’ve never seen before. Although the exterior of the hotel has a huge presence, you immediately feel welcome when you pull up. The hotel staff is extremely friendly and knowledgeable about the hotel and it’s many amenities, letting us know that we could kick back and relax.
The Provencial decor of the Ballantyne is very upscale, yet welcoming with large comfy furniture, beautiful art, and fixtures. In one area of the lobby, around the grand fireplace, the hotel offers high tea in the afternoon. There are many different seating areas to relax and meet with friends, as well as a full service bar. Overlooking the plush golf course, the veranda has breath taking views and is a great place to sit and enjoy the sunset.
Although the hotel is very luxurious, it is still a place I would feel comfortable with my family. They offer many wonderful amenities such as both indoor and outdoor pools, jacuzzi, and two indoor endless pools. There is a full service spa offering all the pampering you could want while on vacation. For those who like to keep fit on vacation, the large fitness center is quite impressive. I must confess that I don’t work out on vacation, but I did check it out and it’s very well equipped.
Our room had 2 pillow-top double beds was very spacious and comfortable. The super comfy beds were made up with luxurious Egyptian cotton linens and fluffy down pillows. Our view of the golf course couldn’t be beat! There was an over-sized chair within perfect view of the 37 inch television. I was happy to find a large desk with 2 chairs where I could set up my laptop. Our room also included a mini bar and safe that is large enough to accommodate a laptop.
The marble bathroom was a real show stopper. It was a very spacious and included a large seamless glass shower and a huge oval soaking tub. There were also 2 fluffy white robes waiting for us.
Chrishelle and I enjoyed an afternoon by the pool catching some rays and sipping on Ballantyne signature cocktails. Yes, life is good! The weather was perfect and we were glad to get this end of season opportunity at the pool.
Gallery Restaurant
Our evening began with a fabulous dinner at the Gallery Restaurant, located in the heart of Ballantyne. The upscale decor and dining experience was a real treat for us. The menu offered creative appetizers, soups, salads, and entrees featuring both land and sea fare. My meal started with a bowl of fresh sweet corn soup, topped with fresh scallions. My local farm salad was incredibly fresh and delicious with a homemade buttermilk herb dressing, topped with a perfectly poached egg. I simply couldn’t resist ordering the Filet Mignon with sauteed mushrooms and local fingerling potatoes for my main course. Everything was cooked to perfection!
Chef Kelly Morrow was kind enough to pose with me for a picture.
The Gallery Restaurant offers their signature popovers made with cheese and fresh thyme to all of their guests. I enjoyed them so much that I will attempt to duplicate the recipe at home, so my whole family can enjoy them.
I have a confession…….
We also had dessert. Shhhh! Yes, we were gluttons on this trip. But it was all so amazing!
I love staying at all inclusive family resorts and every minute of our stay at the Ballantyne Hotel was perfection. I returned home feeling so relaxed and rejuvenated. I am looking forward to returning so the whole family can experience the luxury that the Ballantyne Hotel in Charlotte has to offer.

Oh my goodness look at that place! How could you not want to have dessert here. I love the beds, the fitness center those pools. What isn’t to love there, now I need a vacation.
WOW, now this looks like a place I HAVE got to check out!!! Thank you so much for bringing it to my attention.
Now, that’s what I call a “Grand Hotel” Thanks so much for sharing this truly one of a kind place! (Detroit Mom)
I love the Bathroom!!
Angela,
Thank you so much for staying at The Ballantyne Hotel & Lodge and for sharing such wonderful feedback. We’re so delighted you had an enjoyable experience, and we hope to welcome you back soon!
It was our pleasure, truly! Thank you!
Looks lovely! I am wondering about the cost though?
Thanks for your review 🙂 We travel quite a bit and have stayed in numerous hotels — everything from the Ritz Carlton in Key Biscayne to Rodeway Inn. Hubby travels for business and we often tag along(if the trip is longer than 3 days and/or within driving distance). Since I’m a SAHM and my daughter(7) is homeschooled, our schedules are flexible. She loves staying in hotels and exploring.
Although we usually stay in the hotels that include a hot breakfast buffet and/or kitchen, The Ballantyne looks awesome. I love the idea of high tea around the fireplace. And we would really enjoy the pools. I must say that those are some of the best hotel pools I’ve seen. It’s great that they have both indoor and outdoor
pools. That bathroom is luxe.
looks so pretty! and you look relaxed 🙂
Wow sounds beautiful! I’ll have to keep it in mind if I travel to Charlotte!
