We don’t offer many book reviews on this blog, but I simply couldn’t resist sharing with you The Guide to Baby Sleep Positions by the hilarious Andy Herald and Charlie Capen from HowToBeADad.com. Co-sleeping is something every parent has experienced, and while it’s a beautiful thing, can lead to some sleepless nights and a few aches or pains. Andy and Charlie have managed to give parents a guide to surviving your baby’s sleep sabotage, and they even included full-page diagrams.
This book is a must have for new parents, and some of us old parents too. While I no longer have babies in the bed, I do have 2 dogs that insist on sleeping with me and do their best to inch me out of the bed each night. This book has been surprisingly useful.
Included in the book are some of the most common baby sleep positions: The Pillow Thief, The Opera Singer, and the oh so delightful Biohazard. The Guide to Baby Sleep Positions features some of the most popular posts on the site How to Be a Dad, but two-thirds of the content is unique to the book complete with full-page illustrations. Inside the book you’ll get a description of each co-sleeping position, along with possible side-effects and tips. You can even keep track of your progress at mastering each position.
The Guide to Baby Sleep Positions – Survival Tips for Co-Sleeping Parents is available in paperback for $9.95, although I noticed that Amazon currently has it available for $8.96. This book is extremely useful for parents of babies, but is also sure to make you laugh out loud and is so fun to read. It would be the perfect Father’s Day gift for that special Dad in your life.
disclosure: I received a copy of this book to review. However, all opinions are my own.
