Windows 8 is Here and More Exciting News!

The long awaited launch of Windows 8 is finally here! Last week Microsoft announced the global availability of Windows 8. The new operating system became available for purchase in more than 140 markets and 37 languages in two primary versions—Windows 8 and Windows 8 Pro, as well as Windows 8 Enterprise for large organizations. That’s pretty huge, right?

I got a sneak peek of Windows 8 over the summer when I went to NYC for the BlogHer conference. I had a chance to meet with some of the fabulous ladies from Microsoft, and saw some of the awesome new products that are available, including Windows 8 and the new Surface tablet. I look forward to becoming more familiar with the operating system and sharing it with you.

Have you made the switch to Windows 8 yet? In addition to the wide range of new Windows devices, including Surface!, existing Windows 7 customers can also upgrade their current devices. Upgrade offer available at www.windowsupgradeoffer.com.

  • I just got a new Dell at Costco and it has Windows 7. So no, I have not made the switch yet. But that is very cool that you are ambassadors for Windows! I am impressed. Kuddos! Can’t wait to learn more as you share with us.

  • Congrats on your gig with Windows! I am a creature of habit and will probably never use anything over than Windows if I can help it. 🙂

  • Congrats on your ambassadorship! I’m not sure I’ll be upgrading the laptop.. when I was at BestBuy the other day I took a peek and it looked like it wasn’t really suited for something that isn’t a touch based machine… maybe time will tell… and I’ll jump on the bandwagon, but for now I’m happy with the interface I’m using.

  • I tried to load the OS today and I had to restore my Windows 7 back up because it wouldn’t open a web page on any browser, wouldn’t recognize my Iomega encrypted drive and wouldn’t load my Check Point Endpoint Security VPN software. I was in the middle of work, so I had to make a call and bring it back to Windows 7. I’m not giving up, however. I’ll be trying again this weekend to see if there is a way around any of those issues.

    Good post though.

  • I think I am turning into an old woman – I’m not sure if I want to learn another system. lol.

I remember the launch of windows 3.1. Boy, have i went through a lot of new systems since then.
