The thing I love most about a wine club membership, is the opportunity to try wines that I would have never otherwise heard about. Plus, since it’s a recommendation by someone who knows good wine, I don’t have to worry about spending my hard earned dollars on something that we might not enjoy. I just sampled my second month of Wines by Wives selections and am so pleased to share with you my Wines by Wives review.
Wines by Wives Review
For July I received two of Vicki Gunvalson’s picks. She selected two wines from Arquero Wines of Spain, a 2011 Chardonnay and a 2011 Cabernet Sauvignon. I typically enjoy red wines and was excited to try the Arquero Cabernet Sauvignon. It’s a nice dry and slightly robust wine that pairs perfectly with a steak dinner, or even mom’s special meatloaf. My favorite of the two is the Arquero Chardonnay. This wine is smooth! I was able to pick up on some of the fruity notes, and it was not overly sweet. Rather, it was perfectly balanced.

I cracked open the bottle of Chardonnay the other night with my sister-in-law and our good friend, Alicia. It was quite a treat! We stood around the kitchen and gossiped, like mom’s like to do and the next thing we knew…the bottle was empty. I don’t think I’ve ever finished off a bottle of wine quite so fast, a sure sign of how truly delicious it was.
Wines by Wives is a celebrity wine club started by Tamra Barney and Vicki Gunvalson of Real Housewives of Orange County. For the last seven years, I’ve enjoyed watching them go through the many ups and downs in their lives and am excited about this new venture for them. But even if you’re not a Housewives fan, you’ll still love this wine club. These two ladies seem to really know their wine and what could be more fun than having two fabulous bottles of wine arrive at your doorstep each month!

I don’t drink much wine but part of that is because I know nothing about it! This could be a great way for me to learn something and get a taste for it!
I hope they have wine with only 5-7% alcohol. That’s the only wine I drink. LOL

I love nice wine, but I have one or two reasonable wines (over $10 but not super pricey) that are great “everyday” wines I enjoy once or twice a year! These sound like great wines!

I’m really going to have to look into this – I hate choosing wine because I always end up getting something really bad! But my in-laws love a glass of wine so I try to have it at the house for them. This would be the perfect solution!
