Materials

  • Scrapbook paper cut to approximately 4x6 to cover the cardboard tubes
  • Foil confetti or use a hole punch to create confetti from construction paper
  • Cardboard tubes like clean toilet paper tubes or paper towel tubes cut in half
  • Scissors
  • Balloons
  • Washi tape or decorative duct tape
  • Clear tape

Instructions

  • Cut scrapbook paper to fit around the cardboard tube.
  • Wrap a piece of scrapbook paper around each tube, lining the top of the printed wrap to the top of the cardboard tube, and attach with clear tape.
  • Cut the top off each balloon. Tie a knot on the blowing end of the balloons. Stretch the cut end of each balloon over one end of each cardboard tube.
  • Use washi tape to cover the seam where the printed wrap meets the balloon. (Washi tape quality varies. If washi tape is not strong enough, duct tape can be used.)
  • Fill each confetti cannon with confetti.
  • To use, hold the confetti cannon firmly in one hand. With the other hand, pull the balloon tight and release.
