Ingredients
  

  • cups all-purpose flour 210g
  • ¾ teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup unsalted butter softened (113g)
  • ¾ cup light brown sugar 165g
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar 50g
  • 1 large egg
  • teaspoons vanilla extract
  • cups semi-sweet chocolate chips plus more for sprinkling (270g)
  • Sprinkles optional for decoration

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9-inch round cake pan with butter or non-stick baking spray.
  • Whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt in a medium bowl.

  • In a large bowl, cream the softened butter using a mixer until smooth. Add both sugars and continue to beat on medium speed until the mixture is smooth and well combined, about 2 minutes.

  • Mix in the egg and vanilla extract until fully incorporated. Scrape down the sides of the bowl as necessary.

  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture on low speed, mixing just until the flour is incorporated. Gently fold in the chocolate chips.

  • Transfer the cookie dough to the prepared cake pan, pressing it into an even layer. If you like, sprinkle additional chocolate chips on top for extra chocolate goodness.

  • Bake in the preheated oven for 20 to 25 minutes, or until the cookie cake is lightly golden and set. Allow it to cool completely in the pan on a wire rack before slicing.
