I stopped purchasing bottled water a while back as a means of saving money. I don’t particularly enjoy the way my tap water tastes, but it’s a sacrifice I am willing to make. When given the opportunity to review the ZeroWater Filtered Water Pitcher, I jumped on it! After using the ZeroWater pitcher for a couple of weeks and becoming educated on the water purification process, I am so glad I got this opportunity.
The ZeroWater Pitcher comes with a TDS Meter, which is a digital water tester. TDS stands for Total Dissolved Solids, inorganic substances such as salt, metals and other elements that may be dissolved in tap water. The FDA requires purified bottled water to achieve a reading between 000-010, however tap water often reaches a range up to 400 pp/m. Are you curious to see what the TDS levels are in your community? Visit ZeroWater to find TDS readings in your neighborhood.
An easy way to purify and lower the TDS level of your tap water is by using a filtered water pitcher like the one from ZeroWater. The ZeroWater pitcher uses a 5-stage dual ion exchange filtration system, a process which has traditionally been used in commercial water purification.
We received the 10-cup filtration pitcher and TDS meter. I was so eager to test the quality of my tap water before purification. As you can see below, it received a reading of 034 which is quite a bit higher than the FDA’s recommended 000-010.
The pitcher and filter are very easy to assemble and I was able to use it in just a matter of minutes. To get a full 10 cups of purified water, I had to fill the water reservoir a few times and it took a few minutes for it to filter. But I was doing other things in the kitchen, so it was no big deal. After filtering my tap water using the ZeroWater pitcher, a TDS reading of 005 was achieved. That’s quite an impressive difference in the water quality. Our water tastes so much better after using the ZeroWater pitcher!
The 10 cup pitcher fits nicely onto the top shelf of my refrigerator for convenience. I don’t think we will ever drink straight from the tap again!
