Kids learn how to complete a task when they are doing chores. It also teaches kids how to clean up after themselves. Children will also learn that everyone in the house are part of a team and that everyone works together to get the chores done.

Age Appropriate Chores for Kids for All Ages
There are chores that are appropriate for each age. Even children as young as 2 can do chores. And it works best when the kids learn to do chores even when they are young. Here are chores that are perfect for kids of all ages.
Chores for children ages 2 to 3
For kids who age 2 and 3 here are some easy chore that they can do.
- Put their toys away when they are done playing or clean up at the end of the day.
- Feed the pets and fill the water bowls.
- Pile their books together in one place.
- Put the dirty clothes in the hamper
- Wipe up spills they make or wipe the table down at the end of the meal.
Chores for children ages 4 to 5
Kids this age can do all of the above chores and also:
- Make their bed in the morning
- Clear the table after dinner.
- Wash plastic dishes, the ones that will not break, in the sink
- Empty the wastebaskets. This can be done into a bigger bag or removing the bag from the can.
- Fix themselves a bowl of cereal
- Bring in mail or newspaper. Kids will feel important bringing it in each day.
- Help in the garden by pulling weeds or watering flowers.
- Unload the forks, spoons, and other utensils from the dishwasher.
Chores for children ages 6 to 7
Kids can do any of the above chores and these:
- Sort the laundry
- Sweep the floors
- Set and clear table for meals
- Kids can help make their lunch and pack it in a lunch box.
- Rake the leaves
- Keep their bedroom tidy and keep everything put away.
- Put away the groceries
- Help make dinner
Chores for children ages 8 to 9
Kids can do any of the above chores and these:
- Rise the dishes and load the dishwasher
- Vacuum the carpets and mop the flour
- Make their own snacks and small easy meals.
- Put away own their laundry
- Take the pet for a walk
Chores for children ages 10 and older.
Kids can do any of the above chores and
- Cook simple meal with adult supervision
- Unload the dishwasher and put the dishes in the right places
- Wash, Dry and Fold the laundry
- Clean the kitchen, living room and bathroom
- Wash the windows
- Wash the car
- Change their bed sheets
