For quite some time now, I have been on a quest to find some comfortable dress shoes. When asked to do a FitFlops Shoes review, I got excited and hopeful that I would finally have a pair of dress shoes that would stand up to a lot of walking. You see, I don’t wear heels because of some balance issues. The higher wedge heels are even a problem for me. Heck, the act of walking a straight line is sometimes a problem for me. So, there are several things that I look for in a pair of shoes. They have to be cute and stylish, comfortable, ergonomic, and provide ample support. In addition to my balance issues, I also have a problem with falling arches (I know… I’m a wreck) so a good pair of ergonomic shoes is really important to me.
My FitFlops Dué™ Mary Jane Leather Black shoes arrived and I was immediately able to tick off the boxes for style and cuteness. These shoes are adorable. They arrived just a day before I headed to Minneapolis for a media trip. I was packing light for this trip and wanted to travel with just one pair of shoes. I decided to take the chance and wear my new FitFlop shoes. Taking this sort of gamble in the past hasn’t worked out well for me, but the initial comfort I felt with this pair of shoes put me at ease.
I am so glad I made the decision to travel with these shoes. They have since been worn to Chicago too. The cute Mary Jane style goes well with practically anything I wear, from jeans and slacks to dresses. Although, admittedly I don’t wear a dress very often. I have a medium to wide width foot and the fit is just right for me, hugging the foot firmly. I would imagine that the wide stretch strap across the top of the shoe would make it pretty accommodating for persons with more narrow or wide feet. Also, I have long toes (I know… TMI) which often makes it difficult for me to wear this style of shoe. There is enough room in the toes for me which is kind of a big deal for me.
Why are these shoes so comfortable?
FitFlop shoes are ergonomically optimised and biomechanically engineered shoes that are made to make the wearer feel fantastic. Fitflop build their shoes on Microwobbleboard midsoles to help diffuse underfoot pressure and absorb shock, the technology was inspired by the equipment used by physical therapists to support rehabilitation and post-injury muscle strengthening.
The Mary Jane ballet flats that I wear have a wide stretchy cross-instep band and built-in sneaker-like cushioning makes this the best Mary Jane shoe I have ever worn. It’s cute, comfortable, and I love the classic look.
What do you look for in a pair of shoes?
FitFlop provided me with a pair of shoes to review. No compensation was received. All opinions are 100% my own.
Looks like those would be perfect the next time I head to the mall!
They look nice and comfortable. Not having 6 inch heels probably helps!
mitch
I wear flipflops and sneakers…..But these looks comfortable.
They definitely look comfy! I have learned that I no longer do well in heels – at all!
I’m glad you found your shoes! It’s such a celebration when we do.
I notice they are making shoes with the foam spring inside now. I think that is very good for the cushion of the feet.
I look for a shoes with that and also one that will match the arch in my feet.
these are adorable mary janes! And they go so well with your jeans too.
I think the Mary Jane style you picked is really cute. They look super comfy. I have a pair of Fitflops and my feet never get tired of wearing them.
I LIVE in FitFlops all year long (sandals for the summer, clogs for the winter). They are some of the only shoes that make my feet happy. I love your new shoes – will have to check out some new styles!
I love fitflops! Are those comfortable without socks? I have wanted to try that style, but I can’t stand sticking to shoes.
I wear them with those tiny little socks that don’t show or with nude knee-high stockings. They are comfortable without, but I haven’t done a lot of walking without anything else on my feet.
We only get one set of feet and comfort is always at the top of my list. These look SO comfy! Although I am not sure I like the stretchy band on the top?
