If you’re planning a family road trip this summer, having kids activities planned in advance is key to a good time for all. Add this free printable summer road trip games activity pack to your kids road trip activities arsenal. Summer road trip printables are a great way to create quiet time during your vacation.

You can download and print the Summer Road Trip Activity Pack at the bottom of this page. I hope your family enjoys these printables!

Summer road trip printables will keep kids entertained on vacation. This free summer road trip activity pack includes a word scramble, i-spy game, scavenger hunt, maze, journal sheets and more.

Summer Road Trip Printables

Even with today’s technology it can be challenging keeping your children occupied and having fun on road trips. Printable activity packs like this are so great and they help limit screen time. They can keep the kids having fun both in the car or in your hotel or rental home.

This vacation activity book for kids is geared for children ages 6 through 12. There are six different activity pages, plus an answer key page for the puzzles.

Included Summer Road Trip Printables

  • Word Scramble
  • I Spy Game
  • Scavenger Hunt
  • Journal Sheet
  • Maze Game
  • Coloring Page

What skills do the summer road trip games help with?

Word Scramble – Problem solving skills boost your brain and this word scramble is a fun way for kids to do that. Featuring road trip related words, this word scramble can help with spelling and language learning.

I Spy Game – As children work through the I Spy worksheet, they will refer to the items featured at the bottom of the page and then search for and locate each in the image collage above. Then, circle each item when they find it. I Spy printables such as this help strengthen children’s working memory, problem solving skills and ability to make associations.

Scavenger Hunt – This scavenger hunt can used as an ongoing activity during your vacation. Each item on the sheet is something you are likely to encounter on your journey. The page instructs kids to try and check off each item that they see. Scavenger hunts allow children to practice problem solving in a tangible way. There are many benefits of scavenger hunts for kids.

Journal Sheet – The journal sheet helps children express their favorite moments from each day of your road trip, and how they are feeling. There is also a spot to make a drawing of what they did that day and to describe the day in one word. You’ll want to print one of these pages for each day of your trip!

Maze Game – Kids get to help travelers reach their destination on this fun maze game. Solving mazes helps kids enhance cognitive skills, fine tune motor skills, strengthen visual skills, and improve hand eye coordination.

Coloring Page – This beautiful coloring page features a turtle in a nature setting. Not only do coloring pages encourage creativity, they also help improve fine motor skills and encourages focus.

Don’t you just love that your children will be learning and improving important skills while having fun on your trip?

Make a Road Trip Activity Binder

I recommend printing extras of the journal page – enough for each day of your trip. Use a hole punch and a 3-ring binder to assemble all of the road trip activity sheets in one place. This also provides a hard surface for the child to do the activities. You could also purchase a 3-ring pencil holder to hold all of the crayons and colored pencils.

Terms of Use for Printable

This printable activity pack is for personal use only. No commercial use allowed. You’re welcome to print them as many times as you like for both home and classroom use. If family, friends, or co-workers would like their own scavenger hunt, please send them to this post where they can download the files for themselves. Just please don’t distribute the download files. If you’re a blogger, feel free to share this in a roundup-style post and link back to this page for the printable. Thank you!
