Make this delicious No Churn Ice Cream at home with few ingredients and no special equipment. Food coloring, sprinkles and a simple dollop technique give this colorful ice cream the appearance of the galaxy.

Have a future astronomer? Make this extra special galaxy ice cream as a treat before an evening of star gazing.  This is a fun ice cream that everyone will love. My daughter loves making galaxy slime which is another fun activity to complement this ice cream.

Galaxy No Churn Ice Cream

Homemade ice cream is better than anything you can buy in the store. The problem is, for most people, that they do not have an ice cream machine. With this Galaxy No Churn Ice Cream, you do not need a machine. This ice cream is beaten together and is the best homemade ice cream recipe.

How Is This Ice Cream Made?

When you make this ice cream, you will be coloring the ice cream different colors. When the colors are swirled together it will resemble the galaxy. Then add in the Galaxy sprinkles and this makes a gorgeous no churn ice cream.

Recipe Variations

When it comes to a recipe, I love it when there are ways to change it around and create something different. Use these ideas to change the ice cream to create different looks or flavors.

  • This ice cream is softer because of adding the frosting. You can omit the frosting if you want. We like it because it adds strawberries and cream flavor that we love.
  •  The black ice cream sort of gets lost a little due to the other bright colors. You could make more black than other colors if you want the black to stand out a little bit more.
  • You could omit the black ice cream completely and you will have mermaid or unicorn ice cream instead. Just add different sprinkles and it will turn out great.
  • Add in fruit, nuts, or even chocolate chips to add even more flavor and style.

Step 3: Divide the frosting into 4 separate bowls. Add pink strawberry frosting to one of the bowls along with food coloring. Add the other food coloring to each of the additional bowls. Mix with a wooden skewer, spoon, or spatula until mixed well.

Step 4: Add spoonfuls of ice cream mixture to a bread pan or casserole dish. Take a knife or wooden skewer and make swirls. Try not to mix it too much because the colors blend together a lot after it’s frozen.
