One of the great things about super heroes and comic books is that they bring out the kid in all of us. It’s one of those things you never grow out of. Super heroes inspire us to be brave and fierce, and to help others. My granddaughters and I had a little chat about the qualities of a Superhero and came up with the following attributes: brave, strong, intelligent, helps others, role model, earns respect, likes gadgets, hard working, and have special powers. These are all fine qualities we should aspire to.

The special comic books have an activity for kids to do in the back of the comic. Kids can be part of the JUSTICE LEAGUE by helping the Super Heroes solve a word search, maze, connect the dots, or other activity. Then, they can head to the Big G Cereal Heroes website to read part 2 of the story. How fun is that?

  • I remember reading comic books as a kids constantly, primarily Archie. I haven’t seen too many comic books around anymore so glad to see that they are in the cereal boxes. I will have to look for them for my grandkids. Thank you for the article.

  • I remember growing up and us kids fighting over the surprise toy in cereal. This is so awesome that they are doing this and a book to boot! Great way to get kids to reading.

  • When we went to the store a few weeks back, we seen the comics in the cereal, my daughter had me buy several boxes, sad thing she got the same comic in each box. But she still loves the comnic book she got.

  • I think kids would love the idea of getting a comic book in their cereal. Hopefully, it would encourage kids to read more, rather than play video games.

  • It is really cool of Big G to put in comic books. It’s far and few between these days that you get anything in a box of cereal anymore. I do think it’s even better to give a comic book. It encourages reading by making it fun and exciting. My Son loves the superheros. I agree that the superheros are something that kids can aspire to be.

  • What a great promotion! This is a super-generous “prize” for a cereal. We love these cereals in our home anyway!

  • You gotta love superheros and comics! Think of all of the movies that have come out in the last several years. I particularly enjoyed Captain America. 🙂
