I don’t like to throw things away. I’m not a hoarder…not much of one anyway! But before tossing something I always consider if it can be re-used in a future craft project or recycled. The kids love those (sugar free) ring pops from the store, so I decided to save the plastic rings and see if I could make my own homemade ring pops. Here’s what I came up with…

All I used to make these chocolate rose ring pops is a silicone candy mold that I picked up on Amazon, Hershey milk chocolate chips, and the plastic rings I had saved. I love that the silicone molds don’t even need to be sprayed with cooking spray. It’s just so easy!

Simply melt the chocolate chips in a double boiler, carefully spoon melted chocolate into the molds and place the plastic rings into the chocolate. Next, allow to set. Mine took about 20 minutes in the refrigerator. Of course I had more chocolate than I had rings, so I just made some chocolate roses that look precious in one of my fancy candy dishes.

The girls love these homemade ring pops and I like that they were so simple to make. Next time, I think I’ll use some colored candy melts and use bug molds for the boys. Which ring pops will you be making?
