Protect like a Mother

As seen in nature, it's instinct to protect like a mother. Moms, animal and human alike, will do whatever it takes to protect their families. It's just what moms do.

As parents, we are all protective of our kids. We want to protect them from bullies, bumps and scrapes, getting their feelings hurt or from feeling disappointed, and from illness. This mom knows from experience what it is like to so strongly desire safety, good health, happiness for our kids. In a nutshell, what’s best for them. I’m working with Lysol to celebrate a mother’s natural protective instinct, honoring that a mother’s first priority is always the safety of her children – whether she is a bear, a monkey, or a person! Protect like a mother.

There have been so many times that I’ve fought back tears in front of my kids. It hurts me so much to see them hurting. That first time my son had his heart broken by a girl nearly killed me. That was even worse than broken bones.

While my son is now grown, I still have my 8-year old to look after. After all she went through in her 7 years, before we became a family, I totally feel like a protective mama bear. I can’t do anything to change the past for her, but I can sure help her learn to cope and protect her moving forward.

As seen in nature, it's instinct to protect like a mother. Moms, animal and human alike, will do whatever it takes to protect their families. It's just what moms do.

There is no greater warrior than a mother protecting her child. Perhaps, no animal proves this more than a mama bear protecting her cubs. The protective instinct is a universal truth of motherhood – in the animal kingdom and in our own. Different species demonstrate amazing feats to protect their young…including human mothers.

Like a mama bear, I am protective of who comes near my child, watching carefully the people who come in and out of her life. I encourage her to explore the space around her but all the while I am watching to make sure that nothing can hurt her. And, I teach her the the skills and traits she will need to take care of herself someday (in the far future) and make sure that she is safe while she is learning these things. While mama bears are known for being highly protective, I know from experience that human mamas are too.

Protecting our families also includes keeping them safe from dangers but also keeping them safe from viruses and bacteria. A cold, flu or other illness can knock families down fast. It is important to keep those germs from spreading through the whole house fast. What is the best way to keep the germs under control in a house? Lysol.

Lysol is a leader in germ killing and has been for over 100 years. When someone in a house gets sick, most moms do that internal groan. Once one person in he house, everyone gets sick. Unless you know what to do. Use Lysol. Lysol offers products that kill 99.9% of germs to help moms and families protect their kids from passing germs and getting everyone in the house sick.

Protect Like a Mother

No one protects their families like a mom and nothing protects from germs like Lysol. You’re going to love this video from Lysol which so wonderfully portrays that protective “spirit animal” in all us moms.

Being protective is in moms’ DNA, and it’s in Lysol’s, too.

My “spirit animal” is most definitely a bear – a big, protective mama bear. What’s yours?

I am so glad to partner with Lysol to pay homage to the most incredible and protective moms on the planet – both animals and humans alike. Thanks for taking the time to read this sponsored post.

  • Yes. As parents, it is our duty to try to protect our kids. Of course, there are somethings we can’t protect them from. But some things, we can try (like germs). I am definitely a lioness when it comes to my cubs.

  • You sound like a good mama bear 🙂 I would do anything to protect my family and I will stand up for them no matter what. It’s what families all about!

  • Oh boy, there is definitely nothing that matters more to me than protecting my kids, especially when they were little. It’s always such a balance, though, to protect them but not be too smothering at the same time.

  • I am right there with you being a Mama Bear! It is hard to juggle protecting them and not overdoing it. But protecting them against virus’s is always a good thing.

  • As a mom my number one job is to protect my kids. Somethings I can’t protect them from (like broken hearts) but somethings I can- like germs! We use lysol in our home daily!
