Valentine's Day Lunch for Kids

With the holidays behind us, it’s once again time for packing school lunches. Valentine’s Day is fast approaching, and I have a sweet idea for a Valentine’s Day lunch for kids.

Valentine's Day Lunch for Kids

This simple, wholesome lunch is sure to be a hit with your kids.

A Valentine’s Day lunch is deserving of a special treat, so I included a Snack Pack, made with real nonfat milk and fortified with as much calcium as an 8-ounce glass of milk*.

Valentine's Day Lunch Ideas for Kids

What’s inside this Valentine’s Day lunch box?

Heart Shaped PB&J. I have yet to meet a kid who doesn’t love a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. Use a heart shaped cookie cutter for the bread, and a smaller heart to make the peek-a-boo opening on one side to reveal a bit of the jelly.

Add some fruit. This lunch contains cubed honey dew melon and cantaloupe. Also, some strawberries were cut into halves. I used a knife to remove the stems and cut a v-shape into the top, to resemble hearts. Use whatever fruit you have on hand. A miniature heart shaped cookie cutter could even be used to cut your melon into hearts.

For an added touch, place a heart candy on top of the Snack Pack Pudding. I had to laugh when I came across this candy with #Love on it. Everything seems to have a hashtag these days!

  • That is very sweet – both figuratively and literally. If I were still in school, I’d ask my Mom to do this Valentine’s Day lunch and share this my crush. Lol. And, anyone would go bonkers over Snack Pack. I’ve loved it for as long as I can remember and now that I’m a grown-up, my brother and I still buy our Snack Packs.

  • This is so sweet! I love little Bento style lunches like this. Thanks for inspiring me to make a Valentines themed lunch for my boy.

  • My kids would love it if they opened their lunchbox and found a heart shaped sandwich. What a fun idea.

  • My kiddos don’t take their lunches to school anymore. Plus they’d probably kill me if I did this since they are in high school. However, doing it at home might make them smile.

  • What a great looking lunch for the kiddo’s. So healthy too. I like that it is so colorful. Kids seem to enjoy food much more when it has lot’s of color I have found.
