I once lived in Charleston, South Carolina – North Charleston to be exact. That was about twenty years ago, and I haven’t returned to the historic city since. But not for lack of want. I moved around a lot as a military spouse, and life sort of got in the way of my return. Charleston is a city deeply rooted in history, culture, and southern charm. I love the beautiful plantation style homes, cobblestone streets, Charleston Battery Park with a magnificent view of the coast, and the big city market. There are also some amazing festivals that take place each year like Piccolo Spoleto. While I am sure many things haven’t changed in Charleston the last 20 years, there are many new things to be discovered such as the local cuisine. My Mom and I hope to get away for a long weekend in Charleston this year, and with the help of the FIJI Water Earth’s Finest City Guide – Charleston we’ll know exactly where to stay and eat, and what sites to see.
FIJI Water’s City Guide (AKA Earth’s Finest City Guide) is a bi-monthly online travel magazine. Each issue focus on one city and gives readers the inside scoop on the best places to Eat, Stay and Play in the city. To date, FIJI Water has featured the cities of Dubai, New York, Singapore, Aspen, London, Charleston, Austin, and Hollywood. As someone who loves to travel, I have read many travel magazines and publications. I have to say that this guide is a cut above the rest with rich media and recommendations from top travel experts.
After looking at FIJI Water’s City Guide for Charleston, I have discovered so many new things to see and do. I have a feeling that Mom and I will be staying for longer than a weekend. I would love to stay at the Battery Carriage House Inn and sleep in one of their 4 poster beds. A ferry ride over to Fort Sumter looks like the perfect way to spend an afternoon. I definitely want to eat like the locals (and smart tourists) and visit Martha Lou’s Kitchen for some southern fried chicken and okra stew.
I have long enjoyed FIJI Water for their natural artisan bottled water, but now I have another reason to love FIJI Water thanks to the amazing Earth’s Finest City Guide. I think our next stop from the guide will be Dubai. A girl can dream!

No doubt, Charleston is gorgeous. If I were still in college though, and had the energy to make the most in such a lively city, I’d want to live in or at least visit Austin, TX.
I would love to visit Charleston. I love the photos you included. The horse drawn carriage looks amazing!
Charleston looks gorgeous. I would love to visit London, these city guides are fantastic!
London would be amazing too!
London is on my bucket list, unfortunately there’s a hole in the bucket right now 😉 And we’ll be sticking closer to home the next few years 🙂
Since we just moved to Texas this year, we’re staying close to home for a while so Austin sounds like a great place to visit for us!
I’d love to visit Charleston again someday!

My family is from SC, and Charleston is so beautiful and rich in history. That is actually one the spots I told hubby I want to vacation to.
