Washi Tape Halloween Treat Bags

I got a wee bit carried away buying Halloween washi tape this year. I have so much of it! More than I can ever use… or can I? I am on a mission to use up some of my craft supplies, beginning with these simple washi tape Halloween treat bags.

These little Halloween treat bags are perfect for cookies or candy, and make a sweet presentation for gift giving. If you’re really feeling ambitious (which I am not) you could make these up for your trick-or-treaters.

A tutorial really isn’t necessary for these, they are so simple to throw together. All I used are some medium size Glassine Wax Paper Bags, and washi tape in assorted Halloween patterns. The bags I used measure 4 1/2″ x 6 3/4″ and they are perfect for a large cookie or a handful of candy. I have been picking up washi tape from a variety of places this fall like Michael’s, Jo Ann’s, and online from Pick Your Plum and Consumer Crafts.

On some I added a bit of orange and white Baker’s Twine tied into a bow, for an extra touch.

Simply cut or tear strips of washi tape to cover the top of the bag. Simply fold any leftover tape over the edge, and adhere to the back. I tried to cut my tape as close as possible to the width of the bag. The beauty of using washi tape on the waxed bags, is that it’s very forgiving. If something goes on crooked, it easily peels off so you can try again.

What a easy but super cute way to dress up a treat bag. You could use this same idea for all holidays.

those are really cute – I probably would be more inclined to do this with some Thanksgiving patterns, or Christmas ones, but now you have my creative juices going!
