In a bowl, combine ground beef, Worcestershire sauce, garlic, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until just combined, being careful not to overwork the meat.
Divide the mixture into four equal parts and form each into a patty about 1/2-inch thick. Make a small indent in the center of each patty to help them cook evenly.
Preheat the air fryer to 370°F. Place the patties in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Cook for 6 minutes, then flip the patties and cook for an additional 2-4 minutes or until desired doneness. If adding cheese, place a slice on each patty in the last minute of cooking.
Serve the burgers on buns with your choice of toppings.
