- 1 pound ground beef 80/20 mix
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 4 slices cheddar cheese
- 4 hamburger buns
- Optional toppings: lettuce tomato, onions, pickles, ketchup, mayonnaise, mustard
Preheat the oven to 400°F.
In a bowl, mix ground beef with salt and pepper. Form into 4 patties, making a slight indentation in the center of each to ensure even cooking.
Place patties on a baking sheet and bake for about 15 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 155°F for medium.
Top each burger with a slice of cheese and return to the oven for an additional 2-3 minutes, or until the cheese is melted.
Place each burger on a bun and add toppings as desired. Serve hot.
