Ingredients
  

  • 1/4 cup soy sauce or tamari
  • 1/2 cup hoisin sauce
  • 1 tablespoon tomato paste
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 3 teaspoons grated fresh ginger
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 2 teaspoons Chinese five-­spice powder
  • 2 pounds pork shoulder
  • 1/4 cup chicken broth

Instructions
 

  • Whisk together soy sauce through five­spice powder. Add to large plastic bag with pork. Marinate overnight.
  • Place pork with marinade into slow cooker. Cook on low for 8 hours. Add broth to slow cooker and cook for an additional 30 minutes. Remove pork and shred with two forks.
  • Serve with rice or noodles. At home Asian cooking doesn't get any easier than this slow cooker recipe, and it's delish!
