As someone who does a lot of shopping online and is active on social media, I was very excited to learn about the new #AmazonCart collaboration between Amazon and Twitter. I already do about 75% of my shopping online with a lot of it from Amazon, and since I have to travel 30 minutes or more to most stores Amazon Prime FREE 2-day shipping comes in very handy. It’s so much easier than traveling 2 hours round trip to the mall. The annual fee I pay for Amazon Prime is worth every penny. Shopping just got a little easier…
This new and first of it’s kind shopping feature from Amazon takes shopping to a whole new level, letting you shop right from your Twitter feed. Think of it as social shopping. I’m loving this idea! My first #AmazonCart purchase was the Electric Spice & Coffee Grinder you see pictured above. My daughter was recently in Seattle and visited the original Starbuck’s. She brought home a bag of special Pike Place blend coffee. The problem is that she accidentally purchased the whole beans, and we don’t have a grinder. I got excited when I saw this tweet from Amazon. I simply replied with #AmazonCart and it went right into my shopping cart. Easy peasy!
How #AmazonCart Works
The first thing you will need to do is make sure that your Twitter account is connected to your Amazon account. You can do this by visiting the Social Media Settings in your Amazon account. This is necessary so that your Amazon account will know which account is yours so it can add your items to your cart.
Now just follow your Twitter feed as you normally would. To make it easier to find deals, I suggest following any of the @Amazon Twitter handles or the #AmazonCart hashtag. You may already follow some bloggers who share awesome Amazon deals. When you see something you like, simply reply to the tweet with the #AmazonCart hashtag.
Keep in mind that you have to reply to a tweet with #AmazonCart to have the item added to your shopping cart. Simply sending out a tweet saying you want something and including the #AmazonCart hashtag isn’t going to magically add it to your shopping cart.
Also, you don’t need to worry about being a bit Trigger happy on Twitter. Amazon will not automatically charge you for the item. After you have replied to a tweet saying you want something, you will receive a confirmation tweet from Amazon letting you know that the item has been added to your shopping cart. You can sign into your Amazon account at anytime to complete the purchase.
My new grinder should arrive sometime today! I’m really looking forward to trying that special Pike’s Place coffee. I have a feeling I’ll be taking advantage of this new #AmazonCart social shopping feature quite regularly.
Are you as excited about this as I am? What do you normally like to buy from Amazon?

Many thanks to #cbias for letting me be a part of this campaign and getting me hooked on to #AmazonCart shopping!
I love Amazon, but I have never heard of this program. Will totally have to check it out!
Love Amazon!! I get all my baby’s diapers and wipes from the Amazon store!
Like Ashley, I’m a HUGE Amazon Fan…maybe too huge, and I’ve never heard of this either.
Ya learn something new everyday, I’ll have to check this out.
Very cool! I am glad it doesn’t automatically bill and ship. That could get dangerous! But, this is going to take comparative shopping to a whole new level.
That’s one of my favorite features for sure. God only knows how many online orders I’ve had to cancel because of an automatic order placement. Aargh!
We love Amazon. This sounds really cool. We like to order toys for our son from them.
I love Amazon as well. Need to check this out.
I just used Amazon Cart last week for the first time and I LOVED it. So easy and convenient to use! I’m so glad that it’s available now!
I will check out amazon cart soon, I dont shop online enough to say I would do it this week LOL I want that grinder though
I don’t do a lot of online shopping, but this is a great idea.
What a unique idea on shopping. I don’t spend a ton of time on twitter but am interested to see how this works.
