Have you ever had trouble getting an appointment to see your doctor? It happens to me a lot. I end up scheduling an appointment for one or two weeks out, then something comes up and I have to cancel or reschedule at the last minute. I am left with my medical needs being unfulfilled.
This is a sponsored post to share my Amwell online doctor visit experience. They have generously offered About A Mom readers 50% off a $69 urgent care visit with coupon code Amwell50. Just click here to book your online Dr. visit.
The convenience of making an Amwell online doctor visit when I am sick has helped me stay at the top of my game, and I need my A Game at all times to keep up with my 11-year-old.
Like most moms, my calendar is full and my days are overbooked. Sadly, taking care of myself is one of the things that sometimes falls by the wayside. I used to be really about about not seeing a doctor when I was sick. I had a bad habit of convincing myself that it would go away on its own.
Amwell Online Doctor Visits are a Game Changer
I was really excited when I first learned that online doctor visits were a thing, and more so after my first couple of online doctor appointments went very well. What a convenience!
If you’re not sure about seeing a doctor online, I encourage you to give it a try the next time you’re feeling unwell.
I captured a few screenshots to show you how easy it is to setup your online doctor visit. Getting started at Amwell is simple. It took me literally a minute to enroll and create an account. Just click here to get started and use the Coupon Code Amwell50 to save 50% off a $69 urgent care visit.
The next step is choosing a doctor that is available in your state. Doctors are available 24/7. If the doctor you want to see isn’t available, you can make an appointment.
Before your Doctor visit begins, Amwell gives you the option to provide your health history. They also take you through a few quick tests to make sure the webcam and microphone on your computer are working. For your appointment, you can opt to do an online chat, video chat or telephone call.
My overall experience with Amwell online doctors has been a very positive one.
Earlier this month, I was traveling when I came down with a dreadful sinus infection. Being sick on vacation is the pits. I ended up losing half of a day sitting in the waiting room of an urgent care facility, instead of having fun in the sun. I really wish I had known then about the option to meet with an online doctor through American Well.
The American Well Patient Experience:
Amwell is the nation’s largest telehealth company, connecting users with their choice of doctor for immediate, live online visits—day or night, on either mobile or desktop.
You can meet with a doctor via your PC or your smartphone or tablet by downloading an app. You can have a doctor appointment from virtually anywhere!

I love that more doctor services are being offered online! Great for parents!
I would love this service. So convenient to have a doctor on call when ever you need them online.
I very rarely get sick enough to where I feel I need a doctor, so when the need does arise, you can bet I am too sick to leave the house. I love the idea of getting everything taken care of online!
This online service is a great idea. I would choose to speak to a nutritionist as well to me focus on healthy eating and exercise.
How exciting to hear your virtual appointment went so well. I really like the idea of the follow-up email and helpful suggestions. Amwell sounds impressive.
I can’t tell you the number of times I’ve been to the pediatrician in the last six months. I had considered adding on another wing so I could have a doctor move it, but this is even better. No construction costs!
I can think of so many ways this could be useful. I’d love to utilize it when the kids need to have a doctor’s excuse for school but they just have the flu or something similar.
This would have been perfect for the winter on those cruddy snow days when you just dont want to get out.
I haven’t tried any online drs yet. I have been meaning to. We have insurance but its pretty much useless because of the high deductible. So our dr visits are about $60-$80 just for the visit. This could help out so much.
What a great service for folks who are too busy to make it to the doctor’s office. Soon, everything will be done online!
I haven’t tried online doctor appointments…I am of the mind that I want to be seen by a doctor in person. Especially if something is wrong.
