Are they cheering for the home team or for the snacks? If you’re passing around these Baked Parmesan-Garlic Chicken Wings, we dare bet the latter.

Baked Parmesan Garlic Chicken Wings Recipe at About A Mom

For many of us, one of the best parts of hosting game day is the array of tasty snack platters that will be emerging from our kitchen to feed the ravenous crowd as the evening progresses. While others may be fervently cheering for their favorite team in front of the television, our biggest concern is if there are enough dips, chips, mixed nuts, and hot treats to pass around. And what hot treat could possibly be more iconic than chicken wings? Whether Buffalo-style or hot n’ spicy, they always hit the spot.

With their layers of irresistible flavor, our baked chicken wings are a true crowd-pleaser. First, we infuse them with a fragrant mix of dried herbs and a little salt, and after baking, we coat them with a garlicky blend of olive oil, fresh basil, and savory Parmesan. The result is tender, finger-licking wings that are guaranteed to disappear all too quickly. Believe us when we say that one platter just won’t be enough. The rest of those game-day snacks just got some stiff competition.

Make them your way

Want to give these a little twist? We’re not stopping you! The seasonings given here are not set in stone, so go ahead and raid that pantry to give your subsequent batches of wings a slightly different appeal.

Love a good, spicy wing? Opt for a dry seasoning that includes cayenne pepper with thyme and a touch of cinnamon to balance out the heat. After baking, skip the oil mixture we suggested and opt for a sweet and spicy barbecue sauce instead. Store-bought is fine.

Another delicious option is to give these wings a citrusy makeover. Use lemon pepper and rosemary before baking, and after that, coat the wings with a mixture of olive oil, the zest of orange and lime, and a drizzle of honey.

If it’s more exotic flavors you’re after, try spices like ras el hanout, za’atar, or garam masala. They’re all incredibly fragrant and will add plenty of warmth to these succulent wings.

How do I store leftovers?

Once cooled, transfer the wings to an airtight container and refrigerate them for up to 3 days. Bear in mind that they should not be left out at room temperature for more than 2 hours. You can also freeze the wings in a Ziploc bag or freezer-safe container for up to 3 months. Thaw overnight in the fridge. Reheat the wings at 350°F for 15 minutes.

Serving suggestions

Game day calls for plenty of our all-time favorite snack classics, such as our colorful Seven-Layer Taco Dip and plenty of warm tortilla chips, or these loaded Sheet-Pan Nachos. Of course, no decent game-day spread would be complete without a platter or two of our Southern Deviled Eggs!
