It doesn’t get much better or easier than a soft and chewy chocolate chip cookie that is baked in a pie dish. Decorate this giant chocolate chip cookie pie with chocolate frosting, then slice and serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and a chocolate drizzle. Mmmm.

Sounds amazing, right?
I’m so excited to be sharing a recipe for the Cookies for Kids’ Cancer Valentine’s Event this year. Do you remember the heart shaped chocolate chip cookies I shared last year? Please be sure to read more about this awesome event at the bottom of this post, consider making a donation if you are able, and check out some of the other terrific recipes that are linked.
I have a secret to tell.
Shhh.
I didn’t make this cookie pie from scratch.
Sometimes you just need to pull something together quickly, and I promise you this chocolaty treat will not disappoint. I do have a few tricks that help give this cookie pie a real “wow” factor.

Valentine’s Day falls on a Thursday this year. I don’t know about you, but I don’t have a lot of time to bake from scratch during the week. This is the perfect quick dessert to whip up for your sweetheart or family on Valentine’s Day!
This cookie pie is way easier than baking a cake, and even easier than baking cookies. Honestly, this really isn’t so much a recipe as it is an idea. A terrific time-saving idea that is perfect for just about any occasion.
I made this with a 1 16.5-ounce tube of refrigerated chocolate chip cookie dough. If you want a deeper dish pizza, just use two tubes of cookie dough and increase the baking time accordingly. Personally, I prefer a thinner cookie, because once you add the frosting, ice cream and chocolate syrup this dessert gets pretty rich.
I’ve found that the chocolate chips tend to get buried in the batter while baking. If you like some of the chocolate chips to be more visible, about halfway through the baking time remove from the oven and gently press a few chocolate morsels into the top of the dough.

Is it a pie or is it a cookie? It’s a cookie in the shape of a pie! Now that that’s settled, here’s the recipe:

OH-So Easy Chocolate Chip Cookie Pie
Ingredients
- 16.5- ounce refrigerator chocolate chip cookie dough
- 1/2 tub ready-made chocolate frosting
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Generously grease a 9 1/2-inch pie plate.
- Gently press cookie dough into prepared pie plate. If you want to keep your hands clean, cover dough with a piece of plastic wrap or use the bottom of a glass.
- Bake for 20-23 minutes, until the edges are golden and the center is still slightly underdone.
- Using a pastry bag with a decorating tip, pipe the frosting around the outside edge of the cooled cookie.
- Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and chocolate syrup drizzle.
