Cute, Easy DIY Garden Markers Made With Wooden Spoons

So you have planted all of the plants, or seeds in the garden. You know which is which. Right now. Are you going to remember which one of which before they have vegetables on them, later on? Most people need to make markers so that they know which plant is which as they start to grow. These cute garden markers are a fun way to separate the space in the garden.

DIY Garden Markers Made with Wooden Spoons

Supplies needed:
Craft paint
Paint brushes
Wooden spoons
Optional: clear sealant

Garden marker supplies

Directions:
1. Clean your wooden utensils well with warm, soapy water. This will help remove any dirt and debris so the paint adheres well.
2. Use craft paint to paint on the vegetables of your choice. Simple shapes such as circles and ovals are just about all you need. Apply the paint generously and in two to three coats so it stays.

3. You can then use green paint to add accents such as stems and foliage. Just dab it on and allow it to dry.
4. Once the paint is dry you can use a clear sealant to protect the paint from the elements. This isn’t required it just offers another layer of protection.
Your hand painted spoon garden markers are now ready to be used. Just press the end into the ground by the plant it corresponds with.

These simple garden markers make a cute decoration that helps you know which veggie is which.

This is such a neat idea. I could see letting kids help paint these and plant the veggies, definitely.
