I love to travel. There are so many amazing places to visit here in the South East, so my family often goes on weekend getaways to nearby cities or the mountains. I enjoy taking in all of the sights, sounds, and flavors of new cities. But as much as I enjoy traveling, being on the road seems to always take it’s toll on me. As a creature of habit, it’s difficult for me to adjust to new environments which usually translates into some sleepless nights while traveling. By simply taking along my own pillow, my odds are much improved for a better night’s sleep on the road.
It never fails. The bed in the hotel is either too soft or too firm or too lumpy.
Add to that the gifts of menopause –Â insomnia and hot flashes that awaken you drenched – suddenly the prospect of a good night’s sleep seems an impossible dream.
Sometimes I wish I could just take my memory foam mattress and tie it to the top of the car. Since that’s obviously not an option, I do the next best thing and travel with my Nature’s Sleep pillow. I flew to Boston earlier this week for an event, and then met my sister-in-law in Atlanta on Friday night to attend a conference over the weekend. Knowing me so well, she didn’t at all think it an odd request when I asked her to swing by my house to pick up my Nature’s Sleep pillow.
So many hotels have feather pillows which are great for the first 30 seconds after you lay your head onto them… until the feathers settle and your head sinks in, leaving you with no support for your neck.
As I sit here in my Atlanta hotel room writing this blog post, I feel well rested and thankful to Nature’s Sleep for giving me a better night’s sleep on the road.

I too am traveling with my pillow! I can’t sleep as well without it. 🙂
My kids and I travel with our own pillow too, and a small blanket. My husband and one son always steals the sheets, so if we have our own blanket, we can stay warm.
That’s very cool. I never would have thought to bring my pillow along!
I had to pack hubby’s pillow into his bag for China because he can’t sleep without it!
How nice! We are heading off on vacation soon and I always have a hard time sleeping elsewhere.
I need one of those. The pillows at hotels are never like mine at home, and it really is hard to get to sleep.
I always bring my pillow. Glad I’m not the only one!
Nothing worse than a crappy bed when you travel. This is a great idea.
Yes! I hate the pillows that go flat right away after you lie down! I try to travel with my pillow, too, when I can – this one looks great 🙂
I really want to try Nature’s Sleep…I have been eyeing the mattress pad.
