Typically, a grasshopper milkshake is a boozy milkshake that combines ice cream, creme de menthe, and creme de cacao together. In the spirit of St Patrick’s Day later this month, I whipped up some tasty kid-friendly Grasshopper Milkshakes! This delicious grasshopper shake is made using mint chocolate chip ice cream and crushed grasshopper cookies.

What are grasshopper cookies?
Grasshopper cookies are mint and fudge cookies. There are various brands of these cookies. Keebler is a favorite of mine. Girl Scout Thin Mint cookies are great for this recipe too.
Grasshopper Milkshake Variations
You can easily swap ingredients to make this shake to your own liking. Some suggested variations are using mint cream filled sandwich cookies or ditch the cookies all-together and use Andes mint chocolate candies. You could also swap out the mint chocolate chip ice cream for cookies and cream or vanilla ice cream. Then, to keep with the St. Patrick’s Day theme just add a few drops of green food coloring.
