There are two things that I love — having fresh flowers on the table and decorating for Fall. My home probably gets more decked out for Fall and Thanksgiving season than it does for the Christmas holiday. As much as I enjoy decorating for the seasons, I don’t like to spend a lot of money on it. I’ve learned over the years how to shop for treasures in places like the dollar store and to use things from nature. I would like to show you how to make a simple Fall centerpiece that is easy on the budget and will “wow” your friends.
Fall Centerpiece
I recently picked up a small pumpkin from my local Walmart. I believe they are called sugar pumpkins. It’s been sitting in my dining room for a couple of weeks, but just wasn’t doing much to impress me. While picking up some flowers for a friends birthday this afternoon, I spotted a beautiful $7 Fall bouquet and new right away that it would make a beautiful Fall centerpiece when paired with my lonely pumpkin.
To begin this project, cut off the top of the pumpkin using a sharp knife. Gently scoop out the seeds and soft flesh with a spoon. Find a small glass or plastic container that will fit inside the pumpkin and hold water, being sure that it is not peaking out of the top.
Starting at the bottom, trim your flowers to remove the lower leaves. First place some around the edge so that they are just peaking over the pumpkin, and slowly work your way up letting the flowers in the center of the arrangement stand taller than the rest. You will want the flowers to fit snugly against each other. I used the entire bouquet.
I was tickled over how pretty this simple fall centerpiece turned out and it only took a few minutes to make. I will definitely have too make another for the center of our Thanksgiving table.
Do you decorate much for Fall?
I love decorating for fall and it’s my favorite time of year! Your bouquet looks beautiful and I love the look of the fresh flowers.
I would love if you would share your centerpiece and anything else you would like, at my new blog party, Celebrate It! It’s all about sharing how we celebrate our everyday lives!
Love this! I might buy a fake pumpkin so it will last longer. Thanks for the cool idea.

Thanks for this wonderful idea! My house is going on the market soon, and this will make a beautiful centerpiece on my dining room table.
It looks awesome and it is really simple. There are so many nice things about autumn, especially the colours, aren´t they? 🙂
What a sweet arrangement! I love this idea and will probably try it out this fall. Maybe for Thanksgiving dinner? Thanks for sharing!
