Did you make a New Year’s wellness resolution? You started the year off with such enthusiasm and commitment to eating healthier and exercising more. However, February rolls around and you’re already falling off the wagon. It can be difficult to keep your wellness resolutions on track as the weeks go by.
I am guilty as charged. Year after year, I do the same thing. As one of those people who tends to dive in head first, after the first couple of weeks of change I find myself floundering. The extreme shift in diet usually leaves me feeling deprived, tired and a bit cranky. Next thing I know, I’m falling back into old habits.
Come February it’s time for a complete wellness resolution reboot. Here’s my strategy for getting back on track…
How to Keep Your Wellness Resolutions on Track
Don’t beat yourself up. Your intentions were good, and it’s okay that you steered off course. You’re only human after all. It’s important to forgive yourself. After all, it’s never too late to start over.
Reevaluate your plan. There is a good chance that the plans you made in early January were a wee bit too ambitious. Real change happens when you take baby steps, so slow down. Now is the perfect time to come up with a new strategy – something that’s doable.
Define specific, achievable goals and take a small step each day.
Reward yourself. I think it’s really important to acknowledge your successes. Treat yourself to a personal reward when you hit weekly and monthly goals.
Make sure to fuel your body. I know from experience that extreme dieting does not work. If you are surviving on a lettuce diet, you’re not going to have the energy you need to exercise, let alone get through the day.
The key to staying active and having energy throughout the day is making sure you eat and snack well. V8 Protein is a way to snack smart and get your wellness goals back on track.
Great for breakfast or as a morning snack, V8 protein bars and shakes give you satisfyingly delicious energy from ingredients you know. They are perfect for on-the-go. Good stuff goes in, good energy comes out.
They come in delicious flavors like Chocolate Raspberry, Chocolate, and Vanilla. Each Shake contains 12 grams of protein, 3 grams of fiber, quarter cup of vegetables, no high fructose corn syrup and as much calcium and Vitamin D as a glass of milk. While the Bars have 10 grams of protein, 5 grams of fiber, no high fructose corn syrup and a quarter cup of vegetables in each bar.
I’ve really been enjoying the new V8 protein bars and shakes. Especially on days when I wake up extra early, I like the boost of energy they provide mid to late morning. You can learn more about V8 Protein bars and shakes or you can Buy now!

I have not tried the V8 Protein Bars yet. They look really good. I will have to pick some up to help me stay on track.
Getting back on track is something we probably all need a reminder to do once a month, LOL. I really need to try those bars. They look delicious!
LOL on the lettuce diet comment. I remember trying to eat just salad in my young adulthood. Def. not enough energy to get through the day. 😉
I love V8 products, they are always so yummy and perfect for a diet!
It is hard to not beat yourself up. I know that I need to get healthy – almost as if my life depends on it – yet I continue to make the wrong choices. I need to find my inner motivation. I know its there somewhere.
I didn’t know V8 had snack bars now! I need to get some to tuck into my gym bag!
