Add whatever candy you want, depending on the holiday or season or just make with your favorite sweet treats. With it being fall and the month of Halloween, we made this popcorn cake with Reese’s Pieces candy. This delicious and super fun Popcorn Cake recipe is a great choice to make and gift to friends and family.

This recipe was first published in September of 2011 and has been updated with new images. However, the yummy and easy-to-make recipe remains exactly the same.

Popcorn Cake Recipe to Make with Kids

This fun Popcorn Cake recipe is made with popcorn and candy and is such a great treat to make and get the kids involved in the kitchen. It is a wonderful mix of so many flavors. This treat is crunchy and sweet and requires few ingredients. Your family and friends are sure to fall in love and have so much fun making it. Be sure to write this one down!

It is simple to keep this popcorn cake from getting stale. You want to make sure you wrap it well with plastic wrap. I like to then place it in an airtight container as well.

Ingredients

  • 4 quarts (16 cups) popped popcorn
  • 1 pound Reese’s Pieces
  • 1/2 cup butter or margarine
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 (1 lb) package marshmallows

Instructions:

Step 1: In a saucepan, melt butter or margarine.

Step 2: Mix in oil and marshmallows.

Step 3: Stir until marshmallows are melted.

Step 4: Pour mixture over popcorn, candy, and nuts.

Step 5: Mix well (this is a great time for the kids to get involved) and press into greased springform pan. Ready to eat!
