LEGOLAND Florida hosted us for an overnight stay at the new LEGOLAND Florida Beach Retreat. All opinions expressed are entirely my own.
Endless Fun at LEGOLAND® Beach Retreat at the LEGOLAND Florida Resort
If you’ve ever wondered what it would be like to stay in a LEGO® house, now is your chance to find out. Filled with creative LEGO theming inside and out, the village-style vacation resort features brightly colored bungalows grouped into 13 horseshoe-shaped “coves” named after popular LEGO Minifigures. There are 83 bungalows offering 166 separate rooms that sleep up to five, including a cozy area just for kids with a bunk bed, trundle bed and privacy curtain.
Read on for my review of the property.
When you enter the bungalow, you are greeted with a LEGO inspired mural that your kids are sure to love. There is a king sized bed in each room, along with a small room bunk room that is separated from the main room by a privacy curtain. The room includes a bunk bed that can sleep up to three people when you use the trundle. This special sleeping space for the kids is like a very cool fort. There was even a box of LEGOS to play with! My 8 year old was so excited to sleep on the top bunk for the first time. There is a sturdy safety railing, so you don’t have to worry about little ones tumbling out.

There was a lot of attention to detail, right down to the light fixtures. The bathroom kept with the LEGO theme and was colorful, bright, and also functional. The room had ample storage and came equipped with a coffee maker and a few complimentary beverages.
While the bungalow isn’t particularly roomy, it is comfortable. As someone who likes to get some work done late at night after the kids are in bed, I found myself missing a desk or small table to work from. However, there is a large table and 4 chairs outside under the covered patio. Thanks to Florida’s sunny weather, you can enjoy this space year round.
Each cove has its own outdoor play area within view of the bungalows’ shaded patios, where mom and dad can relax while kids romp and run. There are large areas of grass where kids can run around. Just before sunset my 8-year old had an absolute blast playing outside with the other kids in our cove. I love how the resort encourages outdoor play.
A larger play structure is available adjacent to the swimming pool in a sandy area perfect for building sandcastles. In addition, kids can build with LEGO bricks on a giant sandcastle-themed play area inside The Lighthouse. Around the pool, regular activities include dance parties, bean bag toss, hula hoop contests, volleyball, Red Light Green Light, Hot Potato, chalk art competitions, sandcastle build show-and-tell and “Master Builder” competitions with large LEGO soft bricks.
My little girl really enjoyed sitting in the shallows of the pool and playing with the over-sized LEGO bricks. The entire pool area was great, and I felt good seeing that there were several lifeguards on duty and bright yellow life jackets available for use.
LEGOLAND Beach Retreat was definitely built with kids in mind.
Bricks Beach Bar offers an eclectic menu of made-to-order food, drinks and creative cocktails served both poolside and indoors. You can grab some made-to-order food if you prefer to eat at your bungalow. There are even some great adult cocktails available. Try the “Fish in a Bowl” cocktail. Trust me on this one.
Sandy’s Castle Restaurant, conveniently located by the pool area, features a bountiful menu of entrees, sides and desserts designed to please the palates of kids and grownups alike. A delicious breakfast buffet is included with each night’s stay. I have to say that the breakfast buffet was by far one the best complimentary breakfast I have ever had at a hotel or resort. Oh, and just inside the entrance to the the restaurant and gift shop is a giant LEGO building area. So much fun.
