Trifle makes a quick, delicious and easy dessert that is perfect for entertaining. A real show stopper, this Mixed Berry Trifle dessert comes together in very little time.

Don’t you love it when something that’s incredibly simple to make looks like you spent hours in the kitchen? I’m so excited to partner with Sara Lee® to share my Mixed Berry Trifle recipe with you! The key ingredient in my trifle is Sara Lee® All Butter Pound Cake which is made with the finest butter and whole eggs. That’s what makes it oh-so delicious!
This is a dessert that just screams spring which will officially be here before you know it. Mixed Berry Trifle would also be the perfect Easter Sunday dessert. I usually make one large trifle, but recently discovered my trifle bowl had a crack in it. I’ve been using that same trifle bowl for as long as I can remember. It felt like I was losing a good friend the day I tossed it out with the trash. Who knew one could get so attached to a bowl?

While shopping at Walmart, I found these adorable individual trifle bowls on pedestals and just had to have them. They were very inexpensive and are something I am sure to use over and over again throughout the spring and summer months. Another thing I picked up at Walmart is Sara Lee® All Butter Pound Cake. You will find it in the freezer case, along with other Sara Lee® pound cake varieties. It conveniently thaws in the microwave in just 10 seconds per serving, is always seasonal and so easy to use!
Sara Lee® All Butter Pound Cake is an essential ingredient for any good trifle. It’s so incredibly moist and delicious and still holds up very well when being cut into small cubes. For these individual trifles I had to cut the cake into smaller pieces than normal, and it held together perfectly.
The rich butter flavor of Sara Lee® All Butter Pound Cake puts this recipe over-the-top.
The layers in this dessert are so pretty, and the combination of buttery pound cake, fresh berries, vanilla pudding and whipped topping is so wonderfully delicious.
Ingredients:
- 1 Sara Lee® All Butter Pound Cake, thawed and cut into cubes
- 2 (1 ounce) boxes vanilla instant pudding, prepared
- 4 cups mixed fresh berries (set aside a few for garnishing)
- 1 (8 ounce) container whipped topping
Instructions:
Step 1: To make this Mixed Berry Trifle, you’ll first need to cut your butter cake into cubes that are about 1/2 inch to 3/4 inch in size. If you’re going to make one large trifle, you can go up to about 1 inch in size.
Step 2: Fill the bottom of the trifle dish with a layer of cubed pound cake.
Step 3: Spread on a layer of vanilla pudding.
Step 4: Mixed berries make up the next layer. I used a combination of raspberries, blueberries and blackberries. Strawberries would be another nice addition. My berries were plenty sweet, so I didn’t add any sugar. If you find your berries aren’t quite sweet enough, add 1/2 to 1 cup of sugar to them and allow to sit for about 30 minutes.

Step 5: Spread a generous amount of whipped topping over the berries. You can absolutely make your own whipped cream, but I chose to keep this recipe incredibly simple and purchased ready-made whipped topping.
Step 6: I like to garnish each trifle with a few berries. Some fresh mint leaves would be very pretty too.

This recipe yields 10 individual trifles or one large trifle. You can so easily double or triple this recipe to make these for a party. You can make these in small glasses or even clear plastic cups if you’re feeding a crowd.
