No Sew St. Patrick's Day Shirt for Kids

St. Patrick’s Day is fast approaching. Irish or not, most people like to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day in some fashion. As a kid, I sure didn’t want to be the one who forgot to wear something green to school. You’re going to love this simple no sew St. Patrick’s Day shirt for kids that your child can help you make.

I have always loved incorporating as much green as possible into our March 17th festivities. Whether it’s a green pea pesto for lunch or making rainbow cupcakes, St. Patricks’s Day can be such a fun celebration.

It will take you no time to whip up this whimsical DIY shirt for your St. Patrick’s Day festivities.

Supplies needed:
Green cotton shirt (Dollar Tree)
2 sheets of green felt, both light and dark
Scissors
Fabric glue

Directions:

1. Begin by cutting out the two pieces of felt you will need for the tie. We used the lighter green felt for the tie pieces and saved the darker felt for the striped décor on it. It creates a nice contrast! Simply cut out a medium sized triangle for the top of your tie, and a large diamond for the bottom half of your tie.

2. Add some fabric glue to the back of the triangle, and place it upside down (so the flat side is facing upward and the point is facing downward) at the top/collar of the t-shirt.

3. Add some fabric glue to the back of the diamond, and place it directly under, tucking the top tip of the diamond under the triangle so it resembles a tie.

4. Add some detail by cutting stripes (using the darker felt) and gluing them across the diamond shape. It should now resemble a tie.

Once your felt pieces are in place and dry, your no sew St. Patrick’s Day shirt for kids can be enjoyed.

When your shirt is ready to be washed, turn it inside out and wash it on the gentle cycle. Do not place it in the dryer, but instead allow it to air/hang dry.

This is just adorable and easy to make. I would love to make this for my son and daughter and have them wear this cute green shirt to the St. Patrick’s parade.
