Nutrisystem Week 1 Results #nsnation

As you may know, I am participating in the Nutrisystem Nation Blogger Program.  Nutrisystem is providing me with 4 months of food in exchange for my weekly updates. I jumped right into the program a week ago, the day after receiving my fresh frozen and pantry meals.
Week One Results
I just finished my first week on Nutrisystem and I lost 2 ½ pounds, even with a couple of epic cheats. I had hoped to lose 5 pounds on my first week but will be happy with 2 ½ all things considered. We went out of town for cheerleading competition and I did not think to bring some of my Nutrisystem food with me, so I had no options except concession foods. I will be sure to plan ahead next time, a lesson learned. I was thrown another curve ball when a wonderful package of gourmet popcorn arrived at my door for the holidays. Chocolate and popcorn are two of my favorite things. Put chocolate ON popcorn and I am defenseless.
The fresh frozen meals I have tried this week are absolutely delicious and really do taste like fresh prepared meals. The soups are great, but I wish the portions were larger. The portions really just show how much I have been over-eating all along. Some of my favorites this week were the Double Chocolate Muffin, Cinnamon Bun Bar, Italian Wedding Soup, Margherita Pizza, Ravioli Formaggio, BBQ Soy Chips and Creamy Fudge Bar. The only food I disliked this week was the Nacho Crisps. I really wanted more cheese.

There are definitely a few things I need to improve upon. As part of the Nutrisystem meal plan, I should be eating 3 servings of fruit and 3 servings of vegetables in addition to my Nutrisystem foods. I have been falling well below this mark and must do better. Water is also a very important part of this diet. While I am drinking more water than I thought I would, I still need to drink more. Of course, I need to plan ahead for our out of town trips.
After one week on the diet, I think I can do this long term. The food is quite good. It will just be important for me to try not to beat myself up too much when I have a moment of weakness.
I would love any tips you diet experts out there may have to share with me. Of course, your words of encouragement are much appreciated.
