Looking for online learning websites and educational tools for kids? Whether you are homeschooling, wanting to keep skills sharp over summer break or seeking free educational websites during school closures, learning loss is a real concern for parents.
In my pursuit of homework assistance over the years, I’ve come across some fantastic online learning websites that offer educational games, instruction, and homework help. They are great for homeschooling resources, helping with new skills, and brushing up on some of the skills learned in earlier grades. I’m excited to share these educational websites with you as most of them are 100% free to use. Many thanks to Acer for providing the Acer Aspire R 15 convertible notebook for us to review.
I’ve compiled a big list of online learning websites and tools for kids that are free to use. I recently updated this post, and during the Coronavirus school closure I will continue updating and adding to the list in the coming weeks. Be sure to check back for more free educational websites.

Discovery Education offers help with homework but it also gives games and interactives to get kids involved in learning. A great tool on Discovery Education is the Step by Step Math Help. This is a huge help for kids who do not understand how the answer is the answer.
Scholastics is known for helping kids find a love of reading but the Scholastics website offer homework help as well as helping parents find a way to get organized, and even find science fair project help.
Hippo Campus offers educational resources for middle school through college. Hippo Campus offers over 5,700 videos covers 13 subjects.
Khan Academy let’s kids learn anything. There are sections for kids to start browsing to find the information they need, a section for teachers and a section for parents.
Funbrain was created for kids in grades Pre-K through 8, Funbrain.com has been the leader in free educational games for kids since 1997. Funbrain offers hundreds of games, books, comics, and videos that develop skills in math, reading, problem-solving and literacy.
PBS Kids is one of my favorites and offers a large selection of educational games, videos and activities.
If your kids enjoy everything outer space, they will love the NASA Kids Club, which allows kids to see what it’s like from an astronaut’s point of view.
Mathhelp.com offers video help for all kinds of math problems. Some kids need the step by step that these types of videos can offer. The videos can help a child a certain subject in math or reinforce skills already learned.
Time4Learning offers online lessons, videos and educational games, and has everything you need to provide your children with customized learning and homeschooling.
Brought to you by the Smithsonian Institution, Smithsonian Education provides children with rich and interactive online lessons in art, science and culture.
Highlight Kids is a terrific combination of learning and fun for kids.
